Porn viruses usually only happen whe you're visiting porn sites. Same thing happened to my old pc. Trying to look at dirty smut and the trojan appeared, and i'm not talking about the condom.... oops rofl shocked

Wish I had that to blame, but I was typing in Word Perfect at the time and it swooped in on me, same as the last time. It is an "antivirus" program and supposedly starts to scan your computer and it brings all that crap in behind it, ads for Viagra, erectile dysfunction, porn sites, just keeps piling them on the computer. Then you can't close it out to get rid of it as it locks the "purchase" page up on the screen and it trips your antivirus program and it goes nuts, so the computer totally locks up. I spent 3+ hours on the phone with Dell last night having them clean it out. (Will never own another Dell again, but that is beside the point.)

Guess I wouldn't mind taking some of the blame if I had ever visited one of those sites, but can't take the blame as I don't.

The fact that after they "cleaned it off" and it came back tells me that they didn't really get it off the first time. I have my doubts that they really got rid of it this second time too. Some virus/spyware nowadays are extremely difficult to remove unless someone knows what they're doing.

Next time do not bother with paying Dell & take it to a reputable shop.
That or I can remotely work on your computer & get the job done right. drinker

He told me that the program "they sold" me in April wasn't any good, big surprise. Now wants to sell me another program. He did download AVG from the website and said that should protect the computer, I am hoping it will. I am not sure what to do at this point. I am really disgusted with Dell at this point. I am not sure where to go at this point.

I had viruses on my computer and sent it off to Gateway, after paying them shipping on my credit card. Long story short, they never did get the viruses off, they never fixed what else was wrong with it, and they wouldn't refund the money I paid them for the shipping box. In the end, I had to reformat my hard drive in order to use the computer again. That might work, if you don't mind losing pictures and stuff, or you could save important things to disk.

So far, Dell has done the fixes remotely over the computer, they take control and do the fixes long distance online. I am hoping this one took as he downloaded a better antivirus program than the last jerk sold me. It is frustrating, I use this computer for my 2nd job as I type at home too, and it cripples me when it goes down, now I have 2 nights of work to get caught up on.

I appreciate all the information. I am sorry they didn't treat you right. I got ripped off too, long story. "Let the buyer beware" I guess, but the rep in April conveniently left out a few details when I was purchasing the new parts, big surprise.frustrated frustrated

Get Kaspersky. It's the best anti virus program around.
