so now im a fleet marine,but i dont feel proud,i feel depressed cause when i look at how alot of these marines act and stuff,it makes me think the marine corp. is a joke,all they do is talk about killing, getting drunk, drugs and sex.I feel more ashamed being apart of these people,calling them my brothers?! most i sure as hell would not,but i know that there are some that are good,but its rare to find them.

I think they do that in every armed force...excepting perhaps the Air Force, but I suppose there is only so much testosterone from dropping bombs at an altitude of 25,000 feet.

most young men are like that whether in the marines or no. Its the testosterone. They either grow out of it and become men and leaders or they dont and become fodder

My two cents...

You should feel proud! It's obvious your momma and daddy raised you right. After all, you feel disgust for their actions. That in and of itself says a ton about the kind of man you are.

Don't be depressed by the actions of others. All you can do is conduct yourself with honor in doing your duty to our country and lead by example. That will get you both self respect and the respect of your fellow citizens that appreciate your service, like myself.
