A shot in the dark is what we were
As friends and families snickered

But our hearts wouldn’t allow us
To abide by someone else’s rules

I am usually one for hiding
But not when it comes to you

I have that lovesick notion
To step up and yell your name

Scream it with the sweetest hint
Of love and admiration

Defend you to the world
As you continue to steal my heart

I desire everyone to know the joy I feel
When I have you by my side

Whispering in my ear and holding me close
Promising to never let me go

Loving me as only a man like you can
Embracing my uniqueness and every inch

Seeing the woman I now see in the mirror
Because of your affections

You have changed me,
and made me a believer in fairy tales.
I am the Princess and you are my Charming.
