Mine is Peppermint oil for ants. If you have an ant problem coming in your house, go out and get some pepperment oil (you can get it from the essential oils at cheap shops) rub the oil with a cotton ball around where they come in and viola!
Sure you have the smell of peppermint for 2 or 3 days but that's much better than ants and keeps them out for months they hate it.

Put Boric Acid behind the baseboards all around the house and along the cracks at the back of the kitchen cabinets. You will never have roaches.

To clean your dishwasher: (yes, they need to be flushed now and then :)) periodically run a cup or so of white vinegar through a cycle. If you get any spotting you can also put it in right before the rinse cycle to clean the spot off your dishes.

The only other way than solvent I know of is steam. The little ones for cleaning work pretty well but are slow. I wouldn't try a small steamer if I had a lot to remove.

Fabric softener and hot water worked for me. Let it soak for a bit then scrape off.

Easiest way to clean your microwave...

Put a cup of water in the microwave and turn it on to make the water boil. It makes steam inside of the microwave and than you can just wipe it out. All of the hard cooked on debris inside just comes out with one wipe. No scrubbing. I know, it helps if food is covered before nuking, but sometimes all the nagging in the world does no good on teenage boys...laugh

Eucalyptus leaves and lavender repel spiders.

They hate the smell.

May be used separately.

If you get to Chinatown.

Chinese have a chalk which looks like blackboard chalk.

If you buy that and just draw a line where ants come in you will never ever see any ants coming in

It is made in china (as if any where else hehe)and is for Chinese consumption so not well known by westerners.

Vinegar removes limescale and rust spots. It's also good to run through yr coffee pot for cleaning and to soak shower heads in to improve their performance.

I quite often visit Auckland and Wellington
dryer sheets are the scented sheets you put in for the dryer to make clothes smell nice
