Numerous Internet dating sites have sprung up in the past decade with millions of members. Have Internet dating sites made dating more or less romantic?

I think "less" but also more feasible for those that are short on time for whatever reason...

I've never found dating to be romantic, in the real world or online, so I wouldn't know....

Not romantic at all. I get guys email me....say hi how are you and throw me their phone number. Its dry dating at its worst. How am I supposed to know if I like someone enough to even meet them if thats all it is????

I think with the sites, it's more of a "process" than a natural, spontaneous experience, but the journey, and end result can be about the same, but it does seem a little less romantic.

LESS....big time, I remember back in the late 90's where it was cool to be original, romantic, spontaneous, etc...now in the 2000's it lost alot of its passion.

It seems like when it started it was kind of romantic and fun but once the whole cyber bots flooded in; even to mainstream sites it has taken on more of a meat market feel.
I also think the fact that computers have gotten so cheap that it is easier for the lazy, the common criminals, and the not too smart to set home and hassle people has taken a lot of the civility away. While dateing made people get up off their bums, clean up, go out, and actually ask for a date to have contact many now just get their attention on line. |

Yeap, I think you are right their are many that just like to "play" online. There have been quite a few posts about that were two people email, text, and phone for months but when the big day comes one of the two backs out. There are also the positive stories and some right here that have actually met and plan on marriage.  |
