yeah, windows 7 as of last week. I'm thinking about going back to XP though because it is a bit slower on my netbook. I'm still a bit weary to go up to 7 on my desktop because all I use it for is photo work. As well laid-out and streamlined as windows 7 is, i have not found one thing that I cannot live without; however the lumping all my files into a pane in the explorer and 'open' boxes is far more efficient.

it isn't the viewing that has any errors - i've had to do a few coding tweaks because microsoft still will not go to the mozilla standard, but only when I upload it from expression to the web. maybe i'll try it on my xp box and see...

Andrew,
Let me know if XP works.. Id be interested in seeing what the issue is, if it is with 7...
I am getting ready for a project, which is gonna suck.. I got myself into a migration of 600+ desktops from XP to 7..
Only issue is their is no direct path.. SO im trying to automate it from 2k8 server... Funny that Beta 2k8 R2 has the process, but 2k8 R1 does not have the migration process built in.. No plans on it either according to microsoft... Further, they are running hardware which i think is gonna be crushed, but hey its their money.. "what do i know im just IT" LOL..

Ouch... good luck with that one lol. I'll definitely let you know. I was loving 7 until this morning when i tried to run illustrator for some web graphics and i ran as badly as my storage server now would run it (666mhz P2, 512mb SDRAM ouch!). i realize it's a netbook, but a 1.6 with hyperthreading (i think... i don't believe x86 atom processors are dual-core) should do better. Maybe it's because 7 uses half the 1GB of ram on its own lol.

I had windows 7 installed on a core2duo 3.06GHZ with 3gb DDR3 but it was slow compared to XP, and really slow compared to ubuntu... so i just wiped it and virtualized it...

If you get a chance check out www.tweakwin7.com

They have some great mods you can make to speed it up.. or manage it..
