Senate roll call: Vote on women's health

The 61-39 roll call Thursday by which the Senate adopted an amendment to safeguard coverage of mammograms and preventive screening tests for women under a revamped health care system.

A "yes" vote is a vote to adopt the amendment.

Voting yes were 56 Democrats, 3 Republicans and 2 independents.

Voting no were 2 Democrats and 37 Republicans.

I don't get it.
First the Republican disseminate false information that an Independent advisory panel was a Government Advisory panel. A panel whose recommendations on Mammograms was an attempt by the Obama Admin to eliminate them from the Health Care coverage in the new bill.
Now, when a measure is inserted to insure that won't happen they vote against that.

What's up with that?

I am certain all those male Senators know exactly what women need to stay healthy.

I'd bet at least half of 'em don't even know what a pap smear is or why they play the rag-time blues!

Intelligent women will tell Senate to keep their hands off their mammys.drinker

Perhaps in their haste to vote no on every single bill presented concerning health care, they forgot to read this one.
