In the words of Charlie Brown: 'Oh Good Grief!!!'

lol. I'm just getting my thoughts out! Trying to be real as possible.

Don't assume that it was directed to you... did I quote something you posted?

No you didn't. I'm guilty of making assumptions since I started a thread on a touchy subject. Sorry. happy

I know and I understand. The comment was directed towards the whole thread and other people's comments and all the craziness that has occurred.

Gawd, it seems being childfree by choice is the last acceptable form of discrimination. Oh and being never married is another nail in my coffin. Yes much better to have a couple of divorces under my belt and a litter of children.

I never understand why someone else feels it's their business to tell others what they can or can't do with their own bodies. If someone doesn't want to have kids, then they don't want them. How about if I went around telling parents of bratty children, you really should of used birth control for that one. But that would be rude, right? I'm asking right because I really am not sure what to say next time Timmy presses all the elevator buttons and his mommy just thinks its the cutest thing. At this time of the year, I like to tell them there is no Santa. Is that good? Advice? laugh

Speaking of,, I never know how to answer the 'wants kids' section of the profile. I have chldren and NEVER want to be pregnant again, but I would not have any problem with children my partner already had.

To mark a no on the 'wants kids' section may scare off single dads, but to mark yes may make the guys think I am open to starting a family with them......

samgem: I'm firm in my stance and feel that I've allowed logic to follow to it's conclusion: children and marriage are a tremendous risk, but some people do win lottery, right?

Thanx, sam, I understand where you're comming from -- and from that corner it sure seems reasonable obstaining from having any kids. I certainly hope you don't take my messages as any kind of persuasion to the contrary! I'm simply interested in your point of view -- as a representation of the general view against having kids. (at no point have I accused you of making the wrong decosion!) Honestly, initially, I thought you were jocking, since usually that's a woman's prerogative to decide whether or not to have kids...

---> May be that's the reason for such a high divorce rate:
teenagers getting married/pregnant at such an early age -- before achieving their respective potentials and/or sowing their "wild oaghts"...
Personally, I don't think Men should get married (if ever) before the age of 50 (or even 55) -- when they are settled in their carrer paths and have settled down.
So, at 37, you're still too young for tying the knot (around your hands and feet). spock But, maybe, only in 15-18 years you might be ready for something more substantial than just co-habitating...
(who knows, you might even win the lottery, right? what )

Have you heard the saying:
Children are the flowers of Life.. at their parents' graves!

P.S. XenomorphEyez seems to object to my "Presuring" you... That's a complete misunderstanding and short-sightedness on her part:
I couldn't care less! I simply wanted to hear the male point of view!!! Thus, she better check her Eyez... rant

My brother is 53 and is in no hurry to legalize his relationship!
