I go from one guy to another,
They bore me too fast.
The guy I start to take interest in,
You can bet that it won't last.
The longest guy I've liked,
Lost contact with me.
Big mistake on his part,
He just couldn't see.
Guys are like toys to me,
They get thrown on the shelf when I am done.
Once in a while I will take them down,
If I keep it up there will be none.
I need to find one guy,
Who I am truly happy being with.
So I can stop this nasty habit,
A good guy is like a myth.

They said this experience will open my eyes,
That I'll appreciate things I thought I could not live without.
My point of view did change when I heard our homeowner yell,
"Oh my God! Bad girl! What is this all about?!"
Nobody knew I was on the porch,
Until the guy came out with a thing in his hand.
It cried out as if it was injured,
He set the dying creature out into the land.
When he came back without the dog,
I wondered where it had gone.
I then just forgot about it,
Walked off the porch and walked along.
It wasn't until later that I realized,
That the mommy dog had injured her pup.
When I heard the second puppy crying,
I folded my hands over my ears like a cup.
I don't know what came over me,
But tears just started falling down.
I couldn't get its cries out of my head,
Why did it have to make that sound?
I left the house to get away from it,
And people came over to reassure me.
That this was all pure instinct of the animal,
That this happens all the time, you see.
When I finally calmed down,
And hoped I didn't have to go back in there.
But I did have to when we were saying goodbye,
It just wasn't fair.
I told myself I would be fine,
And I was for a little bit.
But when I heard those sounds again,
I just wanted to go outside and sit.
The tears came flowing down again,
And I couldn't stop.
I turned so no one would see me,
What I needed was a mop.
Right before leaving,
I heard the homeowner say,
"She's going to let this one live."
And that just made my day.

If you want to know what makes me happy,
Look in the mirror and see.
The person staring back at you,
Is the only person for me.
So when you're looking at yourself,
Give yourself a great big smile.
Because now you know the reason,
Why my life is worthwhile.

Well done, miss!
The one about the puppy was dark... damn! That was my favorite, though.

Thanks! <3

If you think that one was dark, that was nothing to half of the poems I have on my computer that I had apparently written when I was "clinically depressed".

Some are downright scary to read now!
