Dear C4L Member,

While millions across the country gather with family and friends on Christmas Eve, the Senate may be working overtime to take away even more of our freedoms by voting on Harry Reid’s health care scheme.

Campaign for Liberty activists from across the country have been burning up the phone lines in key states to alert thousands of Americans to this threat, but every liberty-minded person across America needs to call their senators immediately and repeatedly.

You see, I'm afraid the media is doing the bidding of the Senate leadership and the White House by giving the impression this fight is over with the corrupt deals cut in the last few days.

As you probably know, Senate Democrats like Joe Lieberman and Ben Nelson who were holding out have apparently been bought off with our tax dollars.

But no matter what Democrat leadership wants you to think, this battle is far from over. There are several things Senate Republicans can and must do to delay a Senate vote until the last minute this week -- and force Congress to go home without passing a final version through both houses.

First, there are a couple more procedural votes in the coming days that require 60 senators to pass, including a cloture vote on debating the overall bill. Secondly, even if the Reid bill passes, it only takes one Republican legislator to filibuster and delay sending conferees to the joint House and Senate conference to resolve differences between the two chambers.

Such tactics could push this debate further into the New Year and provide us with more time to take action. And fellow Patriots, it is by no means assured that the House and Senate bills - which are vastly different in key areas - can be reconciled.

But for now, we must focus on doing everything we can to stop the Reid bill before it clears the Senate. Then we can go into the Congressional recess knowing that we are in for the fight of our lives to stop the House and Senate from agreeing on a bill to send to President Obama's waiting pen.

Legislators will be hearing from plenty of their constituents in the coming days as people from all over the political spectrum unite in opposition to this bill.

Some will push for even more government power. Make sure your voice – a voice for freedom – is heard loud and clear this week.

For several months, we have fought a complete government takeover of health care with an intensity the establishment was not expecting. Now it's time to once again show them we are not backing down just because they say the fight is over. It is not, and you and I CAN still stop nationalized health care - but only if we continue to act now and in the coming days and weeks.

Turn up the pressure! Call, email, and fax Congress right away.

In Liberty,

John Tate

President

Screw it, people don't want a better system. They just want a cheap system.

No one really cares where the problem is, just that they don't have to worry about it.

Lessons will be learned soon. Within my lifetime anyhow. The system can't last forever without drastic changes.

I'm continually amazed at how people are perfectly willing to trust their healthcare to the federal government which mismanages just about everything that it has ever been involved in. And now to the tune of a trillion dollars a year.

It's not a matter of "a better plan". It's a matter of jurisdiction. There is no constitutional role for the federal government in health care. Look for yourself-http://www.archives.gov/exhibits/charters/constitution_transcript.html

Oh come on.

Do you really think the politicians on EITHER side actually give a rat's azz about something as trivial as the United States Constitution???

Hell...it'll be easy for the Health Care Bill < Law when Obama rubber stamps it > because, last I knew, the Supreme Court leans to the Left.

Any challenge to the " Law " will be rebuffed by the USSC.

Whether or not it's constitutional is completely irrelevant since the court will not go against Obama and overturn it.

No, I don't think they care about the Constitution-that's why I'm an anarcho-capitalist. I was just elaborating the technical case a bit.

Yeah. I know. My statement was made in a relatively facetious fashion. lol
