I have done alot of thinking over the holidays and have talked with my roommate and best friend alot. I have come to realize I am not a total atheist. I am spiritual but not religious, I believe in the possibility but I am not a blind faith follower.

I like my life the way it is, I am honest, trusting, caring and have morals and values without having religion in my life. I am keeping an open mind and heart to the possibilities.

One possibility that I am interested in Wicca. I am going to start looking into it and see where it takes me.

I also am like you, I know somewhere up there, there is someone watching over this mess down here, and someday he/them/ will come rescue us, I however do believe in a supreme being, I believe that story started somehow, and it is the one I choose to believe, becuause it just seems moral and right, he accepts us all, and turns no one away, if you believe, that's it, and try to follow do the best you can in this human life. Good luck, hope you find what you need to find.

I don't follow an religion..I have taken what I feel is the best (for me) from many different religions and have a very sacred practice of my own. A spiritual edge is the most important thing to me in the considering a partner area. I can not be with one without that edge, whatever it may be...

Wicca is a decent start, but don't forget all of the other Pagan views. That's why I'm eclectic! :-)

I was watching a show called "The Hour" on CBC and the person being interviewed said this " Religion is for those who are afraid of going to hell, spiritualism is for those who have already been there." Curiously the man who said it was Reverend Jim Jones son but he attributed it to sombody else. I've never been to "Hell" , but I found the quote interesting

I've always liked that quote. I've heard it attributed to others, so there's no telling.

Religion is for those who fear everything, what happens hear, and what might happen after we're dead. Most religious folks fear death too for that matter.

Spiritual folks tend to believe in enjoying and functioning in the hear and now, and not worry obsessively about what happens afterwards. We live and we die, and reincarnate in some form or fashion.

Hel (yes, spelled right) is different things to different people. I go with the Norse name with the Greek veiw of either the Elysian Fields or Tartarus, though I don't believe in eternal punishment. Good and bad happens as lessons for us.

I consider myself extremely spiritual as well, but in no way religious.
I'm a firm believer in "Take what works for you and leave the rest.", "Do what you will but do no harm." and "What you do will come back to you."
I've studied many comparative religions, eastern philosophies and tribal practices...and I find that they all have a similar underlying message.
It seems that little disagreements over doctrine and dogma have skewed this message and caused massive conflict that has deviated away from the unity of great hearts, great minds and the potential of a loving outlook on a higher power.
Whatever path you choose, just don't lose sight of the beauty that lies in everyone's freedom of choice.

I'm not wiccan, I do however do a very sacred full moon fire each month. ..it's amazing the power in it..
I'm excited about tomorrow night's fire because it is a full, blue, end of the decade new years eve moon..It will be a very powerful ceremony. I'm sure most don't believe in such things..I have seen it work in my life and those who join me over and over and over.

Whatever we believe will happen to us..just like what you believe will happen to you will happen to you...it's kinda like life. We get what we ask for and put out energy and thoughts into.
