We have ferral hogs all over the state and they are taking over...we must must irradicate them. They destroy land, kill cattle, break fences. The numbers are just rising. We have a open season with no bag limits on harvesting.

Myss,
I would go to your moms just to hunt it...

All public land you can camp on, and most of my club land you can also.

The public lands offer some awesome camping opportnuties.

Nothing really

Most hogs are ferral, they breed like rabbits. Short gestation and multiple litters per year so they spread quickly.

Most range from about 100 to 400 lbs as adults

I only eat the smaller ones

I know deer cause Ive seen them.Turkeys and hogs I havent seen there yet.Havent visited it enough and gone awalking in the woods to find out.Wouldnt doubt it though.

Ive only been up to her place once in 07.My sis lives on 1 or 2 acres land a mile away from hers.

Its manicured lawn in front of house, about 1/2 acre worth, then behind it and to the sides is all woods. If I can find a pic on here Ill post it, might not though, not sure if I do.

Im going up for Xmas this yr and maybe in summer too, need to see my neices and nephew there.

Its really the best meat you could ever imagine. Its a hog, you can smoke, sausage, bbq, pit fire, bacon, what ever your want. but its better than a farm raised. Ideally you dont alarm it before you kill and butcher to keep adrenaline out of meat, then castrate it first just like a cow for the same reasons.

ive had it where its been smoked so long and slow it just falls apart and melts in your mouth.

Turkey are more illusive, best eyesight of any animal. Hogs have there noses. Deer are more likely to hang around if they dont feel threatened. Ive walk right past a deer in the woods, about 10 feet away, with my bow in my hand. It just looked at me like what the heck are you.
