sometimes it can be a problem even posting pics of your kids in craigslist.. there was a lady awhile back that was trying to sell something or needed something and she posted her own 3yr old pic, and just think if a preditor saw that post

I think it is a really personal decision.

I well understand the arguements that there is some risk that a child's picture could be used for and ugly purpose. Refuseing to have your child photographed or shareing their images for reasonable use is however over reacting in my mind.

Even so I went over it, and over it, in my mind posting the pictures of my Grandson's, and I only did so with both of their parents permission. And selected photos that were flattering without being revealing. Part of my decision to do so was that they did not live with me and I do not have to worry about anyone accessing them through me.

My feeling is that my child, and my grandchildren, my Elderly Dad are important parts of my life so it is reasonable for anyone who is interested in me to see me in that frame.

What I would not do is post photo's of my minor child if I did not have the signed permission of the other parent. As a single parent I think it is pretty much asking for trouble from and Ex who might later want to use it as a reason make life miserable.

I also don't think I would post picture's of a school age child where their peers could give them a hard time about it. I did not post photo's on a date site, and withdrew from public life while my children were in high school. I have always felt it is their privacy also. Of course that was back when phones didn't take pictures of everything and teens had their own computer sites.

I do think it is important to be selective of the pictures you post so they say what you want them to say. Different people have very strong feelings about children. It will set you up for some comments you may not like.

I won't post or allow my 3 kids to post photos of them to any
public website, be it Mingle, Facebook, MySpace, and so on.

There are a heck of a lot of weirdos out there.
