I live in Kentucky too! By Choice. It's a beautiful state. Bluegrass and country music have never been my thing, but I do like Alison Krauss and Union Station. They did an awesome Bluegrass song called Man of constant sorrow. You might remember it from the movie O Brother Where Art Thou. I'll post the link below, but I'm still not sure how to make it light up. Maybe someone will be kind enough to do it for me  flowerforyou

Yea. I LOVE that song. Alison is brilliant. Have you heard the album she did with Robert Plant? It's AWESOME!

Oh wow, I just listen to a bit of it on You Tube. It does sound awsome. Who would of guessed to put those two together. What a wonderful match! In one of the comments on You Tube it says they won a grammy for the album. Is that right?

I definitly have to get that album now. Thanks flowerforyou

I think it did win a Grammy. All I know is like that I like it.

Where in KY do you live? Can you pick up WRFL there (88.1) It's a great station!

I live in Northern Ky. I just tried it and I can pick up that station, but it comes in as 88.7 where I am at. Never knew it was there. From the little bit I heard, it sounds great!

I have been trying to find the REALLY old bluegrass with no luck online. There's something very powerful about it. These were people singing about their life and struggle. They weren't trying to make the top 40 or singing a song someone else wrote. They were simply comforting themselves and others with deep, heartfelt music. I don't even know where to start to look as this is a bit of a new interest for me. I know there is a lot of Bluegrass festivals going on during the summertime in Ky. Maybe that can lead me in the right direction. I've never been to one or ever think I ever would. There's a first time for everything right?
