Bogert & Appice were the rhythm section for a band called Vanilla Fudge in the late 60`s. They were in Cactus together in the early 70`s. Then Beck, Bogert, & Appice. They are now in a reformed version of Cactus now, with their guitar player Jimmy McCarty, who also played for The Rockets and Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels.

They were going to form earlier in the 70`s after the Jeff Beck Group broke up, but Jeff Beck was in a car accident and was laid up for better than a year.
