I've been trying for years to remember the title of a movie I saw on late night tv when I was young. It was the first time I was taken aback because at the end the "bad guys" won. It was about a little town being overrun by ordinary looking little spiders. There was a scene towards the end of the movie where all the people not yet killed ended up in a house where they were putting towels under doors and boarding up windows and generally going mad. It ends in the morning when all is quiet and they decide to take a look outside. They take the boards off of a window to find the whole house encapsulated in a giant spiderweb. that's where the movie ends with the camera panning back, first you see the house then the whole town then maybe even the whole country wrapped in a glistening white web. I only saw it once but loved seeing a movie without a happy predictable ending. What was it?
Does anybody else want the movie buffs to help you remember a title?

I knew it wouldn't take you long. Oh, Master of all Media! I've been asking that question for over 30 years! Thank you and I say to anyone else wanting a title, just ask the Master, he knows all. (or is stubborn enough not to give up until he can find it)

I'm reminded daily of the movie with the giant radio active mutant ants, I think it was called "Them." Press #23 in the plastics factory where I work makes a high pitched droning hum that sounds just like they did in the movie. Had some others say it reminds them of old b-rated 50s or 60s outer space or alien movies, but I think it maybe just about the same sound effect.

Them! is great. Yeah, they used a lot of the same sound effects throughout the 50's and 60's...and every once in awhile I'll hear some of those sounds in newer movies(most likely paying tribute)

spent many a weekend in my youth waiting for a classic monster movie on the Son of Svengoulie(don't know if I spelled that right) Show out of Chicago. Saw him again recently and can't believe he's still doing his classic shtick. It still makes me moan and laugh as much as when I was 12. Berwyn....

I'm pretty sure a small alarm goes off in Torgo's house when a thread like this is posted.

My weekends were spent watching Commander USA's Groovie Movies- blocks of horror flicks. Also the late late night show Night Flight which aired weird movies, short films, and music videos.
