She told me how she loved being a wife.
And realized that she had had a long life.
I said her husband came to see her today.
She didn't remember but it was all OK.

We were all glad to see her back home.
In her mind home was where she roam.
Back on the farm with no wheelchair.
Straw in her hair and happy to share.

Money wasn't important but hugs were.
Working was hard; Family was answer.
The alligator tears going down her face.
So confused and feeling out of her place.

The Foley catheter was hurting her belly.
When she tried to walk her legs like jelly.
Husband not wanting harm to her curls.
Crying so lonely just like the other girls.

A fading memory like her fading clothes.
A Jewelled memory so like all of those.
Call lights ring and alarms for the falls.
I just hold her hand; My angel in overalls.

Thank you. I hope she has peaceful dreams, tonight. We just got her back from the sixth floor of the psyche ward. They said she was anemic and the Foley was only temporary. One aide told her and the other aides tonight will make sure she doesn't yank the Cathy out. We made sure she had her pants still on where the chances of her pulling it out will be lessened.
