Philosophy means the love of knowledge. The closest I came to finding something on the love of ignorance is the phrase, "Ignorance is bliss".

I think the word you're looking for is 'television'. Harlan Ellison called it "The Glass Teat" and the fact that one version of it is a free service paid for by brainwashers who know some will rent their minds to its talking heads to do all their thinking for them says it all.

I was trying hard to remember where I remembered that name from. I knew he did sci fi. And then it came to me - 'A boy and his dog'.

Ignorance is Strength.

I really don't love ignorance that much and ignorance has been anything but bliss here lately. Sometimes it is what you don't know which can hurt you. Like that time I grabbed that 440 volt fuse with just a pair of channel locks; It was a real learning experience for me. Or when we were doing electrical work at Tyson's and even though the some power was turned off at the circuit breaker somebody didn't follow directions and had another power going to the same wires. Or when they had a green coloured power wire because they ran out of black and white wire. Ignorance can be really shocking.

Philosophy means the love of knowledge. The closest I came to finding something on the love of ignorance is the phrase, "Ignorance is bliss". In reading about Socrates and looking at the bust of Socrates to me he just doesn't look that blissful. I guess his quote, "I know that I know nothing."; Just seems to back this up. It just seems that ignorance upset him and he had trouble dealing with it. Maybe it just me.

ACTUALLY THE QUOTE "IGNORANCE IS BLISS" COMES FROM AN INDIAN HISTORICAL
STORY WHERE A KING IS DEFEATED AND KEPT IN DARK PRISON FOR THIRTY LONG YEARS AFTER WORDS WHEN HIS PEOPLE FIGHT FOR HIM AND RELEASE HIM ;HE FINDS HIS FREEDOM AND COMING TO LIGHT PAINFUL. THEN HE TELLS" LIGHT IS
PAINFUL AND DARKNESS AND IGNORANCE IS REALLY BLISSFUL" IN THE SAME WAY
WHEN WE ARE USED TO NEGATIVE ATTITUDES AND CONDITIONING WE REFUSE POSITIVE POSSIBILITIES AND FIND PLEASURE IN DOUBTING AND BLAMING SITUATIONS.glasses

Good post. I like the recovery aspect of it. Football has this type of aspect in it when trying to recover the football after a fumble.
