If you were able to rally all of the members of all of the dating sites, would it be enough for write-in votes to impact an election? Would the electoral college really reflect the write-ins?

Uh, no. The President of the USA isn't elected by the citizens of the nation. Instead, the President is elected by the States of the nation. That is why a national popular vote is irrelevant.

Each State sends electors to the Electoral College, and each State legislature gets to choose how to select those electors.

U.S. Constitution Article 2 Section 1 states, "Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress."

The legislature of a State can choose to select electors via a public vote (which is what each State does), or the legistlature can on its own choose that State's electors.

Whenever you cast a vote for a presidential candidate, you are not actually voting for that candidate. Instead, you are voting for a group of electors who, in turn, will vote for that presidential candidate when the Electoral College meets.
