Wondering what would make you sleep or stand in line. For 15hours to get something cheap? And how many people do you go with. So that you can get all the specials. bigsmile

I have friends that do that (group of 10-15 women). It's hilarious. They literally plan it out as if it's some strategic battle...passing out fliers to each member of the group with instructions on what they are picking up and what stores they are hitting. They carpool so that more of them can hit one area and fan out to accomplish their shopping goals. Then they meet back at the designated starting point and swap out the items.

I admire their attention to detail during the process but I've only gone on one of those escapades and that was years ago. It's brutal nowadays and I can't elbow my way to the front of the line like I could before (lol). I would have to take a pro-linebacker with me now.

I think it's ridiculous. Like water said-shop throughout the
year and pick up things here and there, just last minute items
just before.

Yes, people get hurt and even killed every year, I don't see
why they don't ban it, obviously the good ole dollar is still
more important than the people giving it to them.

i actually start shopping for xmas soon after xmas ends... i have bought a few things months ago
and im working on a crochet blanket for my mom.. its pretty much done
and i do plan on making my 2 granddaughter one as well

my family have decided yrs ago to pick a name instead of buying things for others, but guess what i still tend to buy things for others.. and they kinda get mad for me doing that.. but so what

My mom and grandma were amazing at crocheting, sewing, and
embroidery. Me...couldn't do the stuff to save my life. laugh

I try to get at least a little something for everybody too, but
it's getting really hard when every year the "family" keeps
growing. Between bf's, gf's, more gkids, and "adopted" kids,
plus all the people we give cards and food to that don't really
have anybody, sheesh.

Well I never considered myself a shopper, but last year I fell asleep at like 730 on thanksgiving because I worked early that morning (and my family is boring as hell). Next morning I randomly woke up at 245 or so. Said to myself, " let's go check this black Friday stuff out". More looking for a laugh than anything else. Headed to my local mall at 430. Got in line outside sports authority, they handed everybody a discount card, like 10 percent or 50 percent off and some ppl got 25 50 100 or 250 dollar gift cards. Well I won the 250 dollar gift card. Then went to best buy, same kinda thing and I got a 50 dollar gift card. So yea ill prob do it again!

I seen last year a man got a flat screen 50inch tv for 500bones which he was one of the first in line. What do you think of that. Jtevans.

I think they should ban this"running of the bulls"event.Oooops!I meant to say Black Friday.;)It's very dangerous as mentioned above. It reminds me of a scene from a Stephen King novel"The Stand".A huge line of ppl.camped out in front of Wal-Mart.There was blankets, coolers, portable heaters, boom boxes, etc. It was a depressing sight & in some cases gross.sick

Some woman is sprawled out on a beach chair & she's adjusting her bra right out in public. And there's some cigar smoking guy scratching his package while laughing it up w/ his buddy.WTH??So I pulled out of the parking lot & drove off to-wards work to pull some early morn.overtime pay.I'd prefer to shop smart throughout the year & compare savings from various outlets.Godspeed!Cy:smile: drinker

My sister-in-law is like this. The night of Thanksgiving after they've all eaten, her and her mom, aunts, grandma, sisters and sister-in-law (not me), sit down and look at all of the ads for the next day and plan out what time they need to get up, what store they'll hit first, etc. She basically gets all of her Christmas shopping done on Black Friday.

I've never shopped on Black Friday and I swear I never will. Nothing is that important to me to fight those kind of crowds and I don't think I have the patience for the pushing and shoving...HOWEVER, when I worked retail, I LOVED working Black Friday as a cashier. I found it hilarious to see people literally running with shopping carts to get what they wanted.
