awwww geezzzeeee ..... the title says it allllllllllll

i have not looked at the link....i don't need to.
maybe the perspective i have comes from a totally different direction... but what is gallingly clear, within every aspect, urban, or from the devastations of nature, ghettos to plains, tribes to gangs, educated to ignorant, powerfull to powerless, poverty of the heart is worse than poverty of the wallet.

greed is the mother of poverty.....

i could take this further and irritate some people here which is not my objective....so i will leave you with some basic questions and see where it leads

looking at the givens...socialism, communism, capitalism, fascism, etc etc....which one lends the most to proliferating an perpetuating greed.
which ones take us as nations into the starkest imbalances.....

in a way i have to handicap the 3rd world countries because they are so corrupt and chaotic and volatile...like what we see in afrika now ...unlike the middle east who by virtue of available & sophisticated education, have a stronger platform .
They are the recipients of the consequences of greed.

so then wouldn't it be logical to look at the profits...and rebalance the books??

A socialist once came to see Andrew Carnegie and soon was railing against the injustice of Carnegie having so much money. In his view, wealth was meant to be divided equally. Carnegie asked his secretary for an assessment of everything he owned and at the same time looked up the figures on world population. He did a little arithmetic on a pad and then said to his secretary, "Give this gentleman 16 cents. That's his share of my wealth."

I liked Andrew Carnegie's book, "How to win friends and influence people".

interesting article. thanks for posting.
I always thought terrorism was cured using education.
Interesting the article mentions the higher the education the more successful the terrorist is.
Maybe it the kind of education.

tell that to the neurosurgeon and other NHS members whose failed attempts to blow up Glasgow Airport showed that they were really pretty stupidlaugh

Bl8ant - I would not go as far as to call the two terrorist that attacted Glasgow airport dumb. I would consider them to be desperate and acting in a reactionary fashion because their bretheren had failed in the two London bombings and they needed to do something.

This was the work of a group of doctors, so there has to be some level of intelect to have gotten them that far.

This article discussed the level of knowledge the group has as a whole: http://rapidrecon.threatswatch.org/2007/07/confirmation-why-uk-bomb-trigg/

ok but as intelligent as they were then, and as desperate, why not use some biological method and infect the plumbing with whatever... i can think of a million more successful ways for someone with that intellect to come up with to insure deaths...ok maybe not a million but the bottom line objective is mass damage not to get caught with vehicles and nails and explosives... c'mon...

Bl8ant - Intellect does not determine the type of attack.
These nail bombs are very effective at their objective. Terror. Yes other more sophisticated methods could be used, however much harder to implement.
A simple attack give them more freedom to operate undetected or with minimal possibility of discovery.
Once they go into NBC warfare they have more possibility of being discovered as well as methods of introduction to the source become harder.
Anyone can think of more damaging attacks, but carrying them out are much more difficult.
In a fashion the 9/11 attack was similar in nature only a larger bomb was used with more fuel.

Additionally if you remember the original attacks in London last year, the "bomb with nails" effect was quite effective. As was the bombing of the commuter train in Spain.

I would give these guys more credit in the intelligence department for this type of strike as it is almost impossible to stop prior if they keep their heads during the planning stages.

adj4u, that is the key of terrorism, it is mainly psychological warfare. The death and maiming is a means to an ends. 4G warfare is based on "spectacular" effects rather that military might in defeating the enemy.
