Sen. John McCain is defending his former running mate Sarah Palin against charges she is inciting violence against Democratic lawmakers.

Earlier this week, Palin unveiled a so-called target list of the Democrats she is focused on defeating in the November midterm elections. On her Face book page, she also offered a graphic showing where the lawmakers are located -- with targets over each of their districts.

That angered liberal bloggers and Democratic officials who are sounding alarms about threats to Democratic lawmakers in the wake of passage of the health care reform bill. House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer said Wednesday that more than 10 members of Congress have received threats in the wake of the vote, prompting FBI and police investigations.

"Republican leaders are themselves engaging in actions and rhetoric that previously would have been limited to fringe elements of the Republican Party," Democratic National Committee chairman Tim Kaine said in a statement Wednesday. "Sarah Palin has invoked health care 'death panels' and has now placed gun sights on 20 Members of Congress who supported reform."

Palin was also criticized for inciting violence for writing this on Twitter: "Commonsense Conservatives & lovers of America: 'Don't Retreat, Instead - RELOAD!'"

Sounds ominous as you look back, aye!
Mind you she just took them down and sent condolences to the families of those slain in AZ.

Around the time of the Palin post, Giffords's district office was vandalized with a window being shot out. CBS News's Jill Jackson reported at the time that staffers were "kind of shaken up" after receiving numerous threats including "nasty language, foul language."

In August of 2009, someone dropped a handgun at a Giffords town hall meeting, prompting calls to police from Giffords' staff. A spokesman said then that "We have never felt the need before to notify law enforcement when we hold these events."

Asked by the New York Post in the wake of the shooting if Giffords had any enemies, her father responded, "Yeah. The whole Tea Party."

On June 12th, Jessie Kelly, Gifford's Tea Party opponent held an event,

Here's how the Arizona Daily Star described the event at the time:

Jesse Kelly, meanwhile, doesn't seem to be bothered in the least by the Sarah Palin controversy earlier this year, when she released a list of targeted races in crosshairs, urging followers to "reload" and "aim" for Democrats. Critics said she was inciting violence.

He seems to be embracing his fellow tea partier's idea. Kelly's campaign event website has a stern-looking photo of the former Marine in military garb holding his weapon. It includes the headline: "Get on Target for Victory in November. Help remove Gabrielle Giffords from office. Shoot a fully automatic M16 with Jesse Kelly."

I don't know how to copy and change them so I can post them here but the democrats have some sweethearts too. They have one that show target symbols over CD's and another showing bullseyes over CD seats. They're on a friends facebook page, he's been posting all the different political posters containing this stuff. When I find out where he got them I will post them here.

There is not an iota of evidence suggesting this has anything to do with Palin, the Tea Party or Republicans at large.

There are comments made by individuals that knew him and they are calling him a left wing pothead and a radical. This fits the profile of a few recent attacks. Amy Bishop the left wing professor that shot her colleagues at the University of Alabama because they denied her tenure. Joe Stack the communist that flew his plane into the IRS building in Austin, Texas.

The people putting this on Palin or the tea party or republicans are going to be made fools of again.

This time, however, it won't be swept aside and forgotten.

All the left is doing is inciting hate by their rhetoric, they cannot seem to get past the fact that one person is responsible for this and his name is Jared Lee Loughen.

One girl, looking for her 15 min of fame and wouldn't know the difference between left, right, or radical.

I think the point here is that there remain politicians from all sides thet engage in these kinds of campaigns and behaviors......and even though they probably shouldn't and all of them to a certain extent show violence it cannot be helped the unstable people do what unstable people will do and if this person had taken an internalization toward any other business and someone else had written or posted something against that business it still isn't there fault there are unstable people that will do unstable actions this person eventually would have done something to the college parental units or any other entity that had either criticised him or he found criticism for........this person was nound to cause death at some point for someone and politicians freedom speakers media and those in the spotlight are not responsible for the actions of unstable people......

The one person who best knew and understood the threats recieved by congress women Gifford.
Her father,

Ms Giffords’s father Spencer, 75, wept when asked if his daughter had any enemies. ‘Yeah,’ he said. ‘the whole Tea Party’ – the Right-wing movement within the Republican Party.

The domestic threat posed by the Republican and Tea Party is by far a bigger threat to the American way of life than Al Queda could ever hope to be.

You seem like a smart guy who can think for himself and I am surprised that you have been snowed as bad as you have been. We have two parties that have been around way too long that are responsible for everything that happens in this country and they are to blame. You cannot pin something on one side, it is simply foolish.

Read my last Giffords is alive post. not really interested in finding the ugliness and stupidity of one or both parties but rather realizing that as a nation we a re divided and divided we cannot stand. Its time to put the country first and ignore feel good knee jerk issues.

Sorry for her family period but this guy wasn't on the tea party payroll....this guy was really sick and was going to hurt someone eventually........the tea party isn't responsible for this guys actions and neither is Sarah Palin and trust me I am not a fan nor do I condone her little list or tantrums.......I just think if it wasn't here or this person or this action this guy would have hurt someone or killed others somewhere along the line even his college stated he was a danger and to not return to the school until he had a release from a psychologist....

Nope!

Palin and the Republican Party need to be held accountable.
Don't be fooled. They knew what they were doing. They were determined to regain power even if it meant a Revolution.

The fact that they got a lunatic to act first was inevitable. They will continue to excuse this away as none of their fault. It's time that they be held accountable.
