thanks Shayna. I'm aware that it's a crappy picture. I don't have a digital camera , so I had to resort to using the webcam on my computer. As soon as we get some clear weather, Ill get outside where there's better light. I think I can get a better pic.

As for the hair style, I've had this same one for 30 years. Never had a complaint. I should probably go to "Rate My Profile" and see what the consensus is.

Yeah, we try to at least.

That's why we're dubbed Mingletards. laugh

As far as Shayna....Art's problem isn't a lack of response, but rather being stretched thin by the responses he has received.

Even so, those are suggestions worth considering. Some people are of the opinion though that they do not wish to be judged by appearances. Reality is that many people do take pictures into account, and therefore it is often good to have several pictures not just to show appearance but also personality. In the end, it all depends on what Art is looking for. Given Art's age group, appearance is typically less important than personality.

Just my two cents...

Make no mistake. Even at my age, I have seen some 28 year old hotties that made me salivate profusely. I'm just experienced enough to get past that, to some extent. About 20 years ago, I marveled at how older women were becoming much more attractive to me. Then I realized that those older women were actually my age. The parameters really stay the same.

Art, I wasn't talking about you per se, but rather about women in your age group.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I think you're a good looking guy, if I had to be a judge of such.

If its possible to sound pissed off in a forum, you have succeeded. Or, I really suck at being subtle and friendly.

I have always found that a style change can bring confidence, and maybe a more confident look would attract a different kind of lady for you.

Sorry, I was trying to be helpful. I'll go hide in a corner now...

No.no,no,no,no. I didn't mean to come across pissed off. Not at all. Take the words for just what they say. No emotion attached. I do think it's a crappy picture. and that is the reason why. You know, I'm learning more and more these days that you can often come across much differently than you intend.

Thank you, Action. Wanna go out?

You'd have to get past my woman first, and she's like a pitbull.

And Shayna, I know Art didn't take any offense to what you said. He and I have been in the political forums. I've seen quite a few of his posts so far. He's not that type of person.

Hmmm honesty is always best, and really if you are not that interested in messaging them back then just do it occasionally and stay friends. If someone special comes along she will, But stay honest and be friends with everyone, just let them know what you are thinking , then noone gets the wrong idea

Yo Art....

This whole thing is a war of attrition bro....

Yeah, there are great women floating around and at times trying to juggle multiple on-line relationship things can be quite time consuming. The thing is...the longer you are at it and the more of yourself you give....the clearer the picture becomes. The impatient ones will drift away. The ones with ex'es buried in thier yards will slip up and the field narrows until you find the gold ingot amongst the clods.

As far as your pic goes...do yourself a favor and download Photoscape..it is a free image editor that I use for all my pics. adjust your gamma brightness up a couple of notches and you will be amazed. Sharpen it a tad if you need to and hit the skin smoother (works automatically)

Take a look at my pix and you will see what it can do....looks aint everything but first impressions are usually visual..and they last for a long time.

Hey, thanks for the advice, Krupa. Sounds promising. I have Photoscape downloading as we speak. Hope it works on a Mac.

Bummer! It sez it only works in Windows.

No problem...go to freewarefiles..search image editors....there are alot of them you can get prescreened for viruses...they will tell you which ones work for mac.

I have several including video editors too. As long as you get one that lets you adjust gamma brightness...you will be golden my good man.

she may also be talking to several people. I would just write intermitently when you have time. If you are talking to someone seriously or are going to meet someone, you might at some point mention to the others that you do have someone but that you don't mind chatting occasionally. Or just do what u can - part of the process for the daters on the site is a sorting process

Or, what I do usually with guys from out of town is simply tell them on the first or second message that I'm not looking out of my area, and then if they continue to write I answer sporadically unless it gets weird, then I block them

Unless it's a forum friend - with men from the forums I will email any time if it's a forum friend. If it's a local guy that I don't want to meet - I don;t answer- or maybe write once. So I think you just have to develop a set of guidelines that works for you
