Are you using Ineternet Explorer?

sounds like a browser problem. (Internet explorer is buggy as hell)

goto Google and search "opera browser download"

It is alway good to have a backup browser anyway...

I use Opera because Internet Explorer and Firefox are big time sellouts

and real buggy.

Install Opera and get acquainted with the main page and speed dial .

I guarantee you will like it simplicity and speed.

always set your homepage to something simple like Google.

Other wise you might look in Internet Explorers tools menu

tools > Internet options > security settings ...

but if it is a new machine , you should not be blocked .

Check your firewall settings in the control panel and lower them

if thay are maxed out .

If you go to Tools, Internet Options, then click on the Security tab and set it to Mediun-High, click Apply, then go back and click on the Privacy tab, set that to Medium.

Or, reset both to the default settings.

What kind of security software are you using?

I use Firefox as well, and love it. Hotmail may have issues with a new machine as well, sometimes it suspects a new login machine as someone trying to Hack your account, especially after a couple of failed attempts.

The link is to instructions on how to clear internet explorer cookies and cache which is what you need to do to sign back in to hotmail. Let me know if it worked

Avast! is better than AVG. AVG tends to slow down your computer too much, or at least it did when I've used it on different systems.

I also use Firefox, and have never had any problems with it.

And I agree- go with Avast.
