I think your thoughtful pose and follow up speak volumes:heart:

...for the vague incomplete metaphor (cause it can never be said completely anyway....)

"being nudged to fly AND stay grounded with the strongest, sturdiest, yet aerodynamic anchor in your life EVER....until you yourself learn to pass it on. Then realizing that you learned this on day one, by the first person to "really" hold you."

My mom means alot to me. Growing up we didn't have much, but she made sure that I had what I needed.....a roof over my head, food in my belly, clothes on my back, and shoes on my feet. If she could afford to get me something she would.

She taught me compassion, and how to care for other's. She taught me how to work hard at whatever you do. She showed me the meaning of unconditional love. She taught me that no matter what life throws at you that you have to keep going.

She has always been my biggest supporter, and my biggest fan. She never missed one of my games, whether it was football season or baseball season. On a friday night during football season when I was in school, you could always hear her in the crowd.

She was always there for all of my 4-H shows, including when I went to show at the state fair every year when I was in 4-H.

She has been there for me when I needed her most. She has been my rock and my voice of reason.

Now that I'm an adult and on my own, in her eyes I'm still her little boy. She still worries if I'm doing ok.

Her and dad have very little. She works at a little restaurant, and makes very little. Dad's health prevents him from working, and he draws SSI disability, but it's not hardly much of anything. They barely scrape by. I do whatever I can to help, and do more when I can. I put mom on my cell phone plan to save her some money, so she could cancel the one she had. Last year when I withdrew money from my 401k for some stuff I wanted, I spend a big portion on her and dad. I got them a new washing machine because their's was gonna take a crap at any time, it was almost as old as I am. She gave me a hard time and told me that I didn't have to do it, but I felt I did and I wanted to.

I can never repay her for what she's done for me. I don't think I can ever be able to thank her enough. In my eyes I can never do enough for her. She means the world to me.

I hope that if I ever do become a parent, that I can be at least half as good of one as she is and has been for me

IDK it just is what I am. There was never anything else I wanted to be besides a wife & a mother

well the wife part is over

but being a mom lives on! It means-

knowing about cool technology and great new music cause my sons share their interests with me

it means worrying when Mr. Race Car tells me he won't drive too fast

it means being proud at graduations cause they've always been good students

it means hearing great jokes and a lot of laughter cause they know they can talk to me

it means always having someone(s) I can talk to and just totally be honest - like - really? ya - we can gripe together & often do about the insanity that life can be sometimes

it means comfy Christmases w/ lots of laughter

and they still pick on each other at 17, 25 and 27 like they did when they were 8 & 9...

Very nice Jess and Sweet drinker

To me a Mother is one that loves her children unconditional, one that wipes the tears away and chases all their fears away. One that no matter what when her kids truly need her she is there for them and helps guide them along the way.....

I only hope that I have become that Mother for my kids......bigsmile

I never had that chance with mine since she passed away when I was only a baby... But I only hope that I have been half the Mother she would have been if things had been different.... flowerforyou

Txgirl & Holly flowerforyou Navygirl ((hugs)) hopefully one day you will get to feel the joys of motherhood happy flowerforyou

Happy Mothers Day

Beautiful H....

everyday is mother's day for me, I am shown a thousand different ways everyday that I am loved,

...and on the dedicated day for mothers...I awoke to five 14year olds at the end of my bed, with flowers from the garden, scrambled eggs and toast, coffee, and love letters...scared  smitten

(Rhi had her very elegant beachside dinner party and sleepover birthday celebrations the night before)..

"Mother"...is a meaningless womb donor. "Mom" is a real love and apprecieation for all the crap she put up with.

My mother split when I was 6 months old....do I care? Not even in the vaguest....My Mom is my family and I love her with everything that I am. She is a good woman and has earned her title of "Krupa"

I love my Mom but wouldnt know my mother if she walked up and bit me on the butt.

Mothers aint nearly as cool as Mom's are.
