Hey, what do you think about the Texas Rangers letting Ivan "PUDGE"
Rodriguez go? He was my favorite player when he was here. Named my dog
PUDGE after him. Now he has a ring with Florida. Fixing to probably get
one with Detroit!..................I am glad he got his ring anyway. But
I wish he were still here...........Greatest catcher of all time? You
could make a good case for him.

I think he is the Greatest Catcher of all times...He was my fav. player
when he was with the Rangers, too. The thing that bothered me the most
when the Rangers let him go, they traded loyalty. To me, that is more
important than anything else. He started his career as a Ranger and
wanted to retire a Ranger. I'm glad he's had success since leaving the
Rangers, but hate that he's gone. I was even so mad when they let him
go that I started rooting for another team....Go ASTROS!

they thought they could do better without him and every team that he has
played on since will thank for them for it. i'm not a fan of baseball
anymore but pudge seems like the kind of player you'd want on your team.
being from michigan i hope he gets another this year.

It was a mistake!

Definitely a mistake -- from the Rangers' standpoint, though, Pudge had
missed 1/3 of the 2002 season with injuries -- and he was 30 years old.
He had also missed almost half the 2000 season with injuries and did 2
stints on the DL in 2001. A 30-year-old catcher with a history of
injuries is always going to be suspect. Still, if the Rangers had any
idea what he was going to do in the years since he left, they would have
been wise to have kept him.

Damn, I didn't even know they did.........not a smart move though. He's
a dang good player, and a team leader. Aren't they supposed to get more
like him, not get rid of him?
