a wise man once said..... concern yourself with your character rather than your reputation your character is who you are, your reputation is what others think of you Do you have a reputation? Do you care? in my life and circle,,,,MANY times heard... NOW,,,How many times have you heard THEY'VE got a GOOD REPUTATION? In my world of people,,,,hardly ever.. For the reputations earned,,,mostly are NOT GOOD ONES... Its more only a word used when describing someone who has hurt many. OVER a word used to describe a person who has helped many... For good people we use,, I've had many tell me SHE's or He's GREAT to know.... Stand alone,,,,Really a GOOD person...draws many,,,, OUTSTANDING REVIEWS,,,, but,,,,not a reputation that exceeds him-self,lol I don't care what people say or think of me,,for the ones who KNOW ME will not listen to any bad, and for THAT,,,is in the person's heart...  NOT inside their thoughts.....

I don't happen to think I'm one of them. Actually, I'm about as simple and basic as it gets without becoming a quadruped (although some people seem to want to push me in that direction....) |

Actually, I'm about as simple and basic as it gets without becoming a quadruped (although some people seem to want to push me in that direction....) depending on the drive train and other details, you might get more writing done that way... |

At my age, I really don't worry about having a reputation...lol My character is and always has been in good shape.. I've done a good job of raising 2 families, volunteered, opened my home to others, helped my kids and gkids, took care of my mother, and have good work ethics... I don't care if my neighbors or friends say "there goes that crazy old lady (with white hair) flying down the road on her Harley"...ya gotta live everyday like its your last!

Thanks for the comment on the other thread (means a lot). ________ To comment on the celeb thing. As far as Charlie, Tom, Mel and other celebs go I don't see them any differently than any other fired up guy on the block. But I live in Vegas one mile from the strip so I might see more on my block. |

I am in OC,CA, one of the most fake places to live ever. . .and about 40 minutes from Hollyweird....people are people....and we should live and let be...I think a lot of people are under a lot of different pressures and come from different backgrounds which may influence their personas in differences than what others may perceive to be real. |

" what other people think of you is none of your business...until they choose to share it with you" I suspect I have many reputations.. but they aren't mine....they are others'....so really I don't have one...I simply am a symbolic moment in someone elses perception of me.

" what other people think of you is none of your business...until they choose to share it with you" I suspect I have many reputations.. but they aren't mine....they are others'....so really I don't have one...I simply am a symbolic moment in someone elses perception of me. perfectly put once again jess - people who assign reputations only know one dimension of a person - usually do not have the facts straight - often do not understand the context of the decisions/choices another makes... so I see reputations as flawed and essentially judgmental with little constructive purpose. I'd rather get to know the person behind the rep....You can be on a pedestal, you can be in the trash neither is "no place like home" |
