I don't agree...I have loved deeply and completely, and been loved deeply and completely twice in this lifetime...

...I am in it right now...and I feel I am not even halfway through this lifetime.

true love is a once in a life time thing. many people find love and may be in love, but when love can behold any challanges or obsticales that r put infront of it....then it is true love. true love is being able to love uncoditionally. :)

I disagree.

By your very definition, I have found true love many times. I feel unconditional love for my children, my brother and sister and other family members, for my very best friends, some of whom I've had 35 year friendships with.

In that case also, my ex-husband is another true love. We have weathered miscarriages, legal and financial problems, death of his mother, autism, different cultures, a 4700 mile distance. Our marriage has been over for five years and we are still best friends. I am not in love with him, but I love him unconditionally because I know him and he's a good person.

How empty life would be if we only had one "true love".

Well, if you mean true "romantic" love. Then I found her, now she's gone.

They say hearts can love again, but she is the basis, of my, all time love! ^_^

Well, I think both people have to have that true love for each other to keep a marriage together; the onus can't just be on one person. I think very few these days find their true love. When I hear of a couple that are celebrating their 36, 40, 45 anniversaary; then I would say they found their true love as they still are with each other after all these years.

It didn't end. There is a difference between loving someone and being in love. We realized that we were growing in different directions and were better off living apart. We weren't in love any more, but we still love each other unconditionally. We are best friends.

Also, being married a long time doesn't necessarily mean you're with the love of your life; my sister has been married to the same person for 37 years. They stay together because it's become a habit and is easier than starting all over again.
