I am going to put this here because even with all the negative connotations for religion, the religion or study of self is even more important for the spiritual growth of our body/mind/emotion than any man made religion can offer.

How many work to find and maintain inner peace? And what do you do to keep it?

I had to find it first and that took a while of self discovery. Asking why of everything about myself and eliminating the negative and replacing it with positives. Mostly it is letting go of the guilt, regrets, disappointments, etc... and replacing all of them with what was needed to be learned to grow from it. Or sometimes I had to say to those that I hadn't been saying what needed to be said, what needed to be said.

Maintaining it is mostly positive self talk. But I do feed myself some positive information daily and control the amount of negative that I consume so that it doesn't bring my spirit down.

How about you?

Frankly, I think what you are doing for yourself is

quite admirable, Dragoness.flowerforyou

We should all try to improve and better our life.

God's Word even says....

to think on those things that are lovely,and of good report,

to be slow to anger and quick to forgive,

to humble ourselves,

to do unto others as we would have them do unto us ,

to love others as God loves us .....

But

As we travel

the path of life

learning of God

in the Way....

we come to a place

where

He Who came

to walk with us ,

now has come

To live in us.

I heard the voice of Jesus say,
"Come unto Me and rest;
Lay down, thou weary one, lay down
Thy head upon My breast."

I came to Jesus as I was,
Weary, and worn, and sad;
I found in Him a resting place,
And He has made me glad.

I heard the voice of Jesus say,
"Behold, I freely give
The living water; thirsty one,
Stoop down and drink, and live."
I came to Jesus , and I drank
Of that life-giving stream;
My thirst was quenched, my soul revived,
And now I live in Him.

I heard the voice of Jesus say,
"I am this dark world's Light;
Look unto Me, thy morn shall rise,
And all thy day be bright."
I looked to Jesus, and I found
In Him my Star, my Sun,
And in that Light of life I'll walk,
Till traveling days are done.

I examine the life of myself and others to find peace.flowerforyou

I agree Rainbow.

Examination is a great start. Evaluation of why and then looking for end result of each choice made by others and ourselves. Did it turn out a positive? If you can get there, then you know you have the right answer. The method to getting there is also in need of examination. Did we go about it the right way? The way that did not hurt others? Then we know we have the right answer again.

Morning, I have outgrown the need for the god and Jesus story to find peace but if it works for you that is good for you.

I like that quote, Rainbow.

I have to work harder when dealing with people, but find as long as I can get out in the woods, or even playing around with horses, goats, dogs, other animals, I do much better.

Meditation does help, if I'm consistent about it.

I practice yoga and meditate and am learning that I need to eliminate drama from my life.
