just trying to help.

to answer you though, there are too many to name really. i mean it runs the entire spectrum of music. from the classics to the obscure, from bolero or moonlight to opera. it’s a very hard question to answer.

here is one i like though. kind of different.

most beautiful song - oh gosh - tough one

ummm

I'd have to say:

as in most beautiful piece of music, a song by Benjamin Britten called Dew in Aprille (April) from A Ceremony of Carols (we sang this as children)

Middle English original[4]
I syng of a mayden

þat is makeles,
kyng of alle kynges
to here sone che ches.

I sing of a maiden
That is matchless,
King of all kings
For her son she chose.
He came also stylle

þer his moder was
as dew in aprylle,
þat fallyt on þe gras.

He came as still
Where his mother was
As dew in April
That falls on the grass.
He cam also stylle

to his moderes bowr
as dew in aprille,
þat fallyt on þe flour.

He came as still
To his mother's bower
As dew in April
That falls on the flower.
He cam also stylle

þer his moder lay
as dew in Aprille,
þat fallyt on þe spray.;

He came as still
Where his mother lay
As dew in April
That falls on the spray.
Moder & mayden

was neuer non but che –
wel may swych a lady
Godes moder be.

Mother and maiden
There was never, ever one but she;
Well may such a lady
God's mother be.
[edit] Origin
Single surviving manuscript source of "I syng of a mayden" in the Sloane Manuscript 2593. Note how the two-verse structure in the manuscript differs from most transcribed versions.

This is so fun to sing!! as well as the most beautiful music I have ever heard or was privleged to sing - gosh so honored-- I was 14 -17
