soo basically i have dsl.the router is downstairs with the main computer and my computer is upstairs and its connected to the downstairs on thro a lynksus wireless usb thingy..
my question is can i hook up my cat5 cable to my computer and connect it to the pc and be able to get on xbox live! i reason i dont use it downstairs right now,well we had a bit of a flood and it doest small too pleasant downstairs! |

u should be able to use ur router with ur xbox i have a ps3 an my router an comptuer that is hooked up too my dsl is up stairs but i can connect to the router with the router pass word on my ps3

well i dont want to unplug to router..it goes to the other computer

hook up ur xbok it should ask u to set it up wireless if it does follow the steps to that u may need your password to your router to do it that is how i set up my ps3

You need to purchase the xbox wireless adapter.
It is possible to connect the xbox to your computer but you would need to set up internet connection sharing on your pc and use what's called a crossover cable. This is not a standard cat5 cable. You could pick one up at a computer shop though. The xbox wireless adapter is the much simpler way to go |
