I would make great president of my own country though,,lol
If I could afford it. I Would have a pay it forward society somewhere. It would be legal to barter with services and money, so someone who was on hard times could help stock the grocery store in return for groceries (no w-2 necessary) Once individuals reached a certain living salary, they would have to also pay someone else to do SOMETHING constructive or teach someone else to do something constructive and once that person reaced the living salary they would do the same there would be a flat rate tax, no exemptions or loopholes, and those funds would be used to pay for the educational and healthcare systems. There would be true freedom of religion, churches would perform marriages, government would give no special benefit or privilege to married couples. Parents raising kids would be given benefit and privilege and those doing it together may also have an extra incentive to benefit the children and encourage the maintenance of that foundation. ,,,,there would be alot more to consider, but thats all I have for now |

You know the esteem in which I hold you, but this is not what you want. Flat taxes are always regressive. Mr Cain's 9-9-9 flat rate would result in a huge raise in taxes for the poorest among us, and a huge reduction in taxes for those most financially fortunate among us. |

I would have to held at gun point and told that they would kill my whole family for me to govern this country.
That said, I would also be killed by a right winger within the first year of governing this country. And assuming I have the power of the president that most imagine the presidency has, instead of the actual power the presidency has these would be some of what I would do: There would be a reduction in the American companies who are allowed to use labor outside of this country. There would be psychological evals set up by me for gun ownership in this country. There would be universal health care which will cut down the cost of health care since early detection in most diseases lessen the cost of care for the life time of the person having it. With a whole of focus on mental health included since this is a highly neglected area of care. Weed/pot/ganja/maryjane/etc... would be sold like alcohol. Still not being used while driving or working or caring for your children. All wars would end immediately. Religion would be cut out of government completely. No donating, no public declarations of what religion you are by the government employees including senators and president, no bibles or any other religious books in court rooms, no bible quotations on anything government including money, etc.... People would be free to practice their religion at home, in church, at their functions, etc... just not in/at/around the government. Public functions could allow quiet time for prayer if the audience says it is okay but no prayer given of any certain religion or god. The Patriot Act would be rescinded immediately with a new surveillance law being written that coincides with the regular warrant rules. Lobbying and donations to political groups would only be done by individuals who cannot give in the name of a company, religion, corporation, government affiliation, etc...with a monetary limit of 100.00 dollars per individual. Voting day will be a day off from work with more encouragement to vote and more involvement of the communities. Voting will be done in written and electronic form universal across the country using anonymous until voting day delegates from other countries to count the written votes. ETC... Congress would be half women and half men always also national requirement with a quota on race by national percentage of race in this country. Etc... I know I am forgetting lots of stuff here. |

there is no single human that can improve the country no matter what authority he is given. what i see we need in a president is a leader, someone who can pull together a colletion of people, some who already are in government, some who would be presidential appointments, and then lead the country to betterment. i don't even listen to who would do what about the economy, jobs, a more fair tax system or pretty national parks. there's not one candidate out there who actually has a clue, but they're all pretty cagey about getting folks to think that they do enough to get elected. give me a candidate that says, "i can't fix what's wrong with america on my own because i'm no expert in all that's wrong and how to fix it. i'm putting out a call to all in government to rally with me to find real answers and then we'll all fix whats broke as best we can."
eisenhower was such a leader but unfortunately he missed his time as president. but he damn sure put together a coalition of highly unlikely bedfellows to win the greatest war in history. anybody who could get the likes of such arrogant egomaniacs as churchill, rosevelt, stalin and de gaule to even pose together for a photo op much less get them to all dance to his tune logistically and tactically in battle could certainly bring the likes of boener and pelosi to the table. can't really say we've seen such a leader in the white house since ike. nor do i see a candidate that measures up. likely i'll once again, for the third time, write in colin powell/bob gates as pres/vp. two proven leaders in my mind. may as well waste my vote on a fantasy as waste it on one of these idiots who might actually win. a waste is a waste is a waste. |

I agree. Flat tax would be the best but it wont happen. Too many IRS agents, tax attorneys, accountants, etc will be out of work. |
