it shows how naive voters are to think that 10000 should mean the same to someone worth millions as it does to the average family earning 50000 per year

its really not news,,,,

In essence wouldn't that make Romney just as niave to not recognize how much 10000 dollars would mean to those voting for or against him?

not at all, 10000 means alot to me because it takes me most a year to earn it

I realize that he probably earns that in a month

gamblers often throw out that much of their income if the payoff is big enough,,,

why shouldnt he be just as free to spend what he earns as I am?

Not saying that he shoudln't be free to spend his earnings, but into today's economy with many out of work a bet like that on public television is gross negligence on his part. Maybe he should have stated I will bet you 10000 dollars and match the bet with a donation to a soup kitchen for the homeless. It was definitely a negligent factor towards many watching him live for him to rub the fact that he is wealthy into faces of the poor.

I guess the average idealistic voter may have felt so

I didnt take it as a rub in my face at all, I See people spend more of their earnings at the casinos and the movies on a regular basis

and I expect gambling is something people of all incomes still do,,,
but its their money and their risk,,,

I imagine he could have bet 1 dollar, but that number would have been seen as an insult too,,considering how much he earned

seems like a no win situation in which voters dont want to aknowledge what gambling actually is and want to take everything to extremes,,,,

He should be setting an example since he is in the public eye with many watching him and not condoning the actions of other to be watrels and gamble. He is a public eye influence and should remember that, as everyone else in the public eye that do not.

setting what example? not to spend probably 1/3000 of your net worth on your own interests?

not a lesson I think most people need or would listen to

now, does he spend TAXPAYER money responsibly? thats a different question.

not to gamble....and no he does not spend taxpayer monies responsibly

I dont think the activity is important at all. People should spend their money on their pleasures and interests, they have earned it for that very reason(as well as taking care of responsibilities).

It's one thing to spend your money on your pleasures and interests. It's quite another to promote it publicly before others on primetime television before the influenced world.

I dont see the problem with promoting the idea that earnings arent just for responsibilities though,,,

If Mitt Romney wants to flush $10,000 down the toilet then then
least he could do is give it to me. I will not hold the lid for
him while he stuffs bills in the bowl!

Romney is NOTHING but a puppet for the controllers of Wall Street
IF the Republicans let HIM FALL OFF,,its ONLY because Wall Street CEO's Bought Newt,,,and HE'S going to take the pay-offs they had for Romney,,Because it is THEY,,who have bought ANY candidates RIGHTS AWAY.
And Newt already has had THEIR MONIES in HIS POCKET anyway...

I truly WISH the public could have seen and known IF Romney had large Investments in GOLD already aquired,,because HIS STAND on the debt Ceiling CHANGED THE WORLD'S OPINIONS OF THE USA.

And I BELIEVE it was ALL to disgrace Obama and to profit on the Value of world Gold,,as IT almost doubled that next day,,after HE HELD US RANSOM to NOT APPROVE THE DEBT CEILING...

The TRUTH is the Republicans DO NOT HAVE EVEN ONE GOOD CANDIDATE,
Who is qualified to be Called,,Our President?

And As THE WORLD LOOKS AT STANDARD AND POOR'S OPINIONS OF RATINGS,
HAS ANYONE LOOKED INTO WHO PAYS S & P's INCOMES????
CORPORATIONS MONIES BUYS S & P's OPNIONS PEOPLE...
IT WAS MANUFACTURED BY CEO'S, OF THE ELETE HERE AND ABROAD.
THIS NEEDS TO BE FOCUSSED ON WORLD-WIDE,,,SO EVERYONE CAN SEE THAT?

Jumped the shark.

It is kind of like Bush Sr. not knowing how bar scanners work at
the grocery. It is a moment of complete disconnect with the voters.
Romney forgot how much so many people would like to have a measly
10,000 smackers.

It's over like Howard Dean's scream of victory.

Of course $10,000 means nothing at all to Mitt Romney.
That's the problem.

Out of touch Multiple Choice Mitt strikes again. I cant wait to see the next poll results...........

no clue, organized gambling probably is, personal proposals between friends, probably not so much

and 10000 and hour would mean he earned half a mill a week, which I doubt,,,

People are suffering! He wants to be Pres and tells everybody he feels their pain and wants to be their representative.

Then.....

On a national debate, without thinking, without remorse, he flaunts his wealth and ability to splurge it in the face of the nation.

1. He didn't think before acting... not very leader like!

2. He claims to be devote in his religion, a missionary.... and he gambles?

3. He spoke in rage, or defense, forgetting the ills of the nation and it's people in the economy.... how would that play in a more vital situation, say with a nuclear foreign power....

It's the action without thinking, THE REAL MITT!

HE'S DONE!

I really didnt see any rage, and gambling of this nature is more of a man created offense than a biblical one.

I think its a stretch to compare the situation to one where there is a life or death decision to be made
