Coincidence:

"A sequence of events that although accidental seems to have been planned or arranged."

"A chance occurrence of events remarkable either for being simultaneous or for apparently being connected."

"An event that might have been arranged although it was really accidental."

I don't think a coincidence's are accidental.

not a coincidence then?

Defined as a coincidence..or accidental, yes.

I don't believe in accidents. Everything happens as it should, we
don't always understand why, at the time.

but what if something really is just an accident - like putting the butter dish in the sock drawer because you're on the phone with someone and not paying attention?

I don't believe in coincidences either. I think things happen for a reason. Even if you can't see that reason right away.

you & fred durst - everything happens for a reason

that POV is very tempting, but it also makes me feel stupid - like how do u know what things happen just cuz, and when things are happening for a reason? not that it matters - just wondering

(I'm more of a - just cuz - person, obviously, per my previous posts)

p.s. ummm just put some french vanilla creamer in that starbucks - yummy!

k, let me wrap my mind around this scenario....laugh

Perhaps there is a flaw in the butter dish, perhaps unhealthy for you to use. Your subconscious 'puts' it in the drawer with the socks and the next day the news say..recall on said butter dishes. You remember you put it with the socks, get it and throw it away.

I know it's a stretch...
I'm going to need more coffee to keep up with you this morning. happy

Who is Fred Durst?

Actually, the best way to figure out why things happen is to accept that it happened for a reason and then not think about it anymore. Then your subconscious can work through it and the answer will pop into your head when you least expect it. You know....those "a-ha moments". think

This place reminds me of a Twilight Zone episode. Where "coincidentally" a group of strangers get thrown into a situation together and they have to work together to deal with the situation. They are all very different and, in some ways, very suspicious of each other. But, they are all there to learn from each other and receive some kind of life changing lesson.

used to love the Twilight Zone - it always left me with that question: Was it a coincidence, or not?

there was another similar show at the time the name of which I forget ATM....as I recall it tended to the alien theme more often....had a lot of that stuff when the space program was in its infancy

o o o it was One Step Beyond

but Twilight Zone was my fav

loved the movie too

We live by the choices that we make for ourselves.

Fortune has nothing to do with it.

By the way "Good Luck" in your choices.laugh

You have now entered the "Twilight" Zone.

YES!!

Everything that happens is for a reason...generally we don't buy into that, specially when it is unpleasant.

We find ourselves doing 'something' and are not sure why..years later or possibly sooner we have that aha moment you spoke of and then understand why we were doing said thing.

But then, you already know this aye Ruth. flowerforyou

Life is like the twilight zone in many ways..

I'm not suspicious of anyone...are you? (JK)

Actually I know all the tact to change my life but I don't want to change it as it is very nice to live it the way I'm living.
I believe,I've huge potential which I generally don't exhibit,I believe I can do wonders & I have done too..but even then I consider anyhow life is bound by fortune. We just can't go beyond destiny.
