If an intention creates an event, you may have less than a split second to change that intention before causal forces will move the event forward. That is because the intention and action are so closely connected. I'm talking about a single event, like pulling a trigger or making a left turn etc.
Long term intentions that require thousands of single events have more working room. |

Here is an example of how I prevented an accident so that it never happened. To do this thing on a daily basis you have to be alert and you have to listen to mind energy that exists in the present moment.
This happened last night. Its about listening to or ignoring, your inner voice. Last night I walked down a snow packed path from my apartment to my Mom's house in the dark. The path was slick but I was very careful not to fall. Then I stepped on a large piece of plastic which had been blown onto the path. It was the piece of plastic that I had torn from one of the windows earlier that day because it had been flapping in the wind making a noise and bothering my Mom. My mind told me then - that I should put that plastic in the trash but instead, I ignored my inner voice, and I just dropped it on the porch. That was cause number one. Then the wind blew it onto the path that I was to later walk on. That was cause number two. Now these are events and causes leading to other events and causes that are leading up to an accident. I did not pick that piece of plastic up. My mind told me I should, but I did not do it. That was cause number 3. Then I was in the house hearing my inner voice telling me that I should go pick the plastic up off of that path lest I forget about it and trip on it later. I did not do it. Then I called my sister to help me to put Dad into bed and she has to walk from across the street to get to the house, and she usually comes in the front door. The plastic was on the path at the back door. But this time, my sister decided to take the paths leading to the back door. That was cause number 4. Now my inner voice was telling me very loudly that I should go out there and remove that plastic from the path just in case my sister came up that path in the dark and slipped on it. She never uses that path. But I heard the inner voice warning me of the event that was unfolding. The event that was being created was in progress. I went out and picked up the plastic. My sister did come in through that path and she exclaimed about how very slick the walking was. But she did not trip on the plastic because I listened to my inner voice. This may not seem like actual "time travel," but there really is no "time." There are only events!!!! This event outcome was sensed or seen or known by mind, and it was changed. |

Though it's not something I speak of very often, I have had a number of past life experiences. I used to chalk them up to an overactive imagination. (I've always been told I have one...) Then one day, while I was doing some reading of ancient Celtic legends, I came across a historically documented figure (i.e. he has been shown to exist though his exploits have been embellished) who was an exact match with one of my past life experiences. His name was Angus Og.
I have since met two other people who have mentioned a past life experience which matches up with another of mine. Based on information given, I can match them up with specific people within the vision I saw. That took place in feudal Japan, likely sometime between 1500 and 1700. By contrast, Angus Og goes back to the time of the Roman Empire, if not before. In every past life experience I've had, I died young - by age 40. In my earliest past life, I died around age 18. Oddly, it is the oldest lives which are most vivid. Newer ones are blurred with fewer details, such as one I experienced from the American Civil War. I believe I was allowed to see these past lives so that I could gain perspective - to show how my spirit came to be as it is, not to give me an undeserved sense of pride nor to show me dubious historical facts. It was meant to be a purely personal experience. |

Although this thread is not about past lives, I think that is an interesting subject. Normally people (humans) don't remember the details of their past lives. They will have memory flashes or dreams.
I have had some very vivid dreams that could have been parts of a past life. |

In order to believe in reincarnation and past lives you have to believe that we are eternal and spiritual beings having a physical experience.
It is my belief that all that exists comes from the universal mind and manifests on all planes and dimensions. All events come from mind and thought. Thoughts are not born in body, but body manifests via thought. |

|
This thread is meant to be an exercise in thought. If mind can create space and time, then mind can control and travel throughout its creation.

I mentioned it because of something you mentioned.
And it can obviously warp our perception of how time works. If we want to talk about time travel and changing the past, past lives open up a whole new can of worms. Though it would be interesting to go back in time to meet a "you" who isn't quite you. Btw, all of my past life visions happened while I was awake....usually during the meditative warm-up exercises for tai chi. I'll admit, I would time travel for purely observational reasons. Consider how just leaving a piece of DNA behind during the Triassic period might alter the evolution of species on our planet... |

Consider how just leaving a piece of DNA behind during the Triassic period might alter the evolution of species on our planet... I believe that incarnations don't follow one after the other for human consciousness or human life, but that they happen simultaneously within the time constraints of this three dimensional reality. Your incarnations are sequential only from your perspective. In other words, your next life could be in what we consider to be the past or future, or even the present. You could also be living two (or more) lives right now, only one is your past life or your next life. So as you, as spirit, weave your way through this spacetime reality, one life after another, your lives are experienced one at a time, but they don't follow the flow of time that this reality or this earth world does. You leave your own path through time, in and out of earth's past and future. This is because every conscious thing has its own system of spacetime, and every human body is a universe unto itself. Universes exist within other universes. With this thinking stretched further, I could be you in a past or future life. What you do to others, you could be doing to yourself. |

The above of course means that we are all "time travelers."
But not really, because there is no time to travel through. There are only events. Sounds like a paradox, but its all about consciousness. |

Okay I know its sort of like cheating, and even though we took this picture on one of our time travel trips I think we might be able to pass it off as a picture of the Loch Ness monster don't you?
I don't remember the name of this creature but it could be the Loch Ness monster couldn't it? ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Nice head shot.
"I'm ready for my close up." Boy he sure has a long neck. At least the water here is clear enough for pictures. The diver in the background can barely be seen. That's Terry of course. ![]() |

kinda creepy. Strikingly matched with the movie- 'Final Destination'. Death follws different path even if you changed its path. This isnt time travel i guess. What made you think that you shouldnt pick up the plastic? Eventually your mind changed its thinkin. It doesnt happen often with all of us, does it? Like a person is goin to die in an accident n he gets a feeling he's goin to die. So he changes the event. Thats not quite possible. You prevented the accident but you came to know how it would happen. You looked into future? Nope. You got a feeling it would happen
Right. Did I look into the future? Not really... but it was more like I could sense a very strong probable future event coming into play and my mind was telling me about it. It was also telling me how to change it. I never thought I should not pick up the plastic, I was just lazy and I ignored my inner voice that told me to put it in the trash NOW. By not putting it in the trash, I set up a sequence of events that was leading down a path to the strong probability that my sister would come along that dark snow packed path and walk across that plastic and fall. |

This probable accident was an event that was being set up to happen. It probably took many different other causal events one after another for it to get completely set up.
To add to that, it was the first time my sister made the decision to come in through the back door rather than the front door. If I had not listened to the nagging inner voice, I estimate that there was a 79% chance she would have stepped on that plastic and fallen flat on her back. That's just a guess. |

Gotchya. You were just lazy at that time n didnt picked the plastic even you had an urge to pick it up. Now this happens with me too, not often. But to do this 'changing event stuff' you need to think of every step you take. Does it has to do somethin with a word called 'luck'? I think yes. Wooooh mystery solved! This isnt actual time travel.

But to do this 'changing event stuff' you need to think of every step you take. Does it has to do somethin with a word called 'luck'? I think yes. Wooooh mystery solved! This isnt actual time travel. I know. But the nature of time is interwoven with three dimensional space so there can be no actual "time travel" within this explicate unfolded order. Underlying this reality is a deeper order of existence, a vast and more primary level of reality that gives birth to all the objects and appearances of our physical world in much the same way that a piece of holographic film gives birth to a hologram. David Bohm calls this deeper level of reality the implicate or enfolded order, while our own level of existence is the explicate or unfolded order. In order to control the causal progression of an event about to unfold, you need to become aware of what kind of causes are at work. Once the event has unfolded, it becomes part of the record. To go back and change it would require a quantum leap or vortex trip. (That might get you into a parallel universe.) |

This is really messing with my head.................
There's many things I could go back and change about my past but if I did.....I wouldn't be who I am now. Not sure I'd want to change anything that badly if it screwed up where I am at now and who I am now. Don't know that it's worth the risk. |

Not sure I'd want to change anything that badly if it screwed up where I am at now and who I am now. Don't know that it's worth the risk. I agree. The reason I went back was because I had made the mistake of not divorcing my second husband and I think that resulted in something terrible. I can't remember what that was exactly. Maybe it ended in my death. If you don't catch the event wave before it collapses you have to go back to a certain point before that and hopefully make a different decision. The only reason I would do it would be in a case where a bad decision took my life and had a real bad effect upon the people around me. This kind of time travel will mess with your memories, and it is more like a quantum leap into an alternate reality. |

If you died, how would you know that, and how could you really go back given you're still living as that person now? That doesn't make sense to me really. As for the rest......really idk, as much I'd wanna change things, the risk is so high as has been said. And really too life is about experiences, they shape who we are and who we become. The things I've done and the mistakes I've made are what brought me here, and if I lost them I'd lose a part of me too in so doing you know? Sometimes I think stuff like this is almost better off as just an idea really. |
