Thanks for your understanding, the American government just focus on the bad side of Nigeria, but they forget that good things are still happening here, we still have good people here (very honest people). There is corruption all over the world and not just in Africa (nigeria) I love my country, and i am proud to be a Nigerian, God Bless my country.

I have a question folks
You say people don't want to go home because of hospitality and such
But what about jobs and income for those who stay ?
Is there work and money to live for those who need to work
Or is the country mostly geared toward tourism ?

Hi :) Hope none of you mind me asking, but does the money we donate to you from Children In Need and Comic Relief actually reach your country? We do try to raise a lot of money for your country.

The truth is people are not that needy here. At least from the east where I hail from. So you guys shouldn't let people take advantage of your good will. Most of what you guys are fed by your media or the so called NGO's or whatever name the people that take the fund are mostly false. It's a hype. No doubt there are poor people but they are every place. There are only serious need for reliefs when there is crisis in a region or there is a natural disaster(like the massive flooding that occurred last year). Most of the funds raised abroad outside these critical moments go into few pockets period. Mostly privately owned NGO's and a few churches does charity work here. Anything involving the government is a waste of resources. You guys should just focus on a local charity I think.

Nigeria is the third largest oil producing state in the whole world. A stunch member of OPEC and big brother to other African countrys. There re many companys and enterprises here. Eg telecommunications, textile, oil companys, construction companys nuemrous to mention. Tourism is just a plus to what Nigeria got. Americans, Asians, Europeans & others work in da oil and construction companys respectively and even in University some teach foreign languages like .. Chinese and German. No doubt Nigeria is a rich nation.

Like people all over the world we have our positives and negatives. One thing is clear though, with a youth population of of over 65m Nigeria is the destination for consumer service businesses globally. We just need to improve the level of education across the nation. Illiteracy breeds distrust among the 250+ tribes. Folks don't often fight for their rights but social media is helping to change that now. Awesome cuisine if you sample food across the geo-political zones -afang soup, white soup, pounded yam, gbegiri + ewedu and amala, banga...periwinkle soup..divine. Lastly..the Nigerian woman...salute to them. Beautiful goddesses. Though too docile sometimes in fighting for their rights but they hussle and sacrifice a lot and boy are they great in b**!laugh
