Secret Service probes Arizona cop's bullet-ridden Obama image

Published January 27, 2012

PEORIA, Ga. – The US Secret Service is investigating an Arizona cop after he posted a photo online showing several teenagers with guns posing next to a bullet-ridden Barack Obama T-shirt.

Sgt. Pat Shearer also is being probed by Peoria Police Department after posting the photo of seven young men, four with guns, holding up a gunshot-marked T-shirt featuring an image of the US president above the word "hope," on Facebook.

The picture was posted Jan. 20, the week before the president's visit to Arizona, The Arizona Republic reported.

The Secret Service confirmed it was looking into the photo Thursday, with a spokesman telling KNXV-TV that although the individuals involved have a right to free speech, the agency also has a right to question them.

I don't see what the big deal is. This kind of stuff has been going on forever. It is a form of free speech and doesn't pose any real threat to the president.

Do you think attacking a picture of the president should be illegal? If we really have "free speech", why is the SS getting involved?

What a silly article.

I agree with the comment in the article...
'it's a political statement'

People are really pissed over our choice of leaders,
if they want to shoot at images, then so be it.
No harm done.

Hell, we have to take our frustrated frustrated frustrated out on something!!!

Was it the grouping pattern or number of rounds used that caused such a stir?
Maybe AG Hitler/Holder what ever, is P.O'd. and calling out the SS to find out the make, model, and set. #'s of the allegedly used weapons to either add them to his banned list or track his missing guns from his operation "Fast and Furious".

I don't know, but personally, I think the SS is trying to make an example out of these guys to stop people from posting pics like that on the net.

Only if the darts are dipped in poison and shot via expended air thru a straw, pipe or tube. Dia., length, sights and grips will also play into the mix as well. You're pretty well screwed on this one.
Hope you look good in pin stripes and flip flops.surprised

I dont know if it is or should be illegal,,,,Id have to read about precedents

but I do think the agency should be permitted to investigate it as far as how 'appropriate' it is for one who vows to 'serve and protect'

They are investigating the cop to see if he violated some sort of social media policy the cops have.
