VISUALIZATION, AFFIRMATIONS AND USING THE LAW OF ATTRACTION:

(Why trying to visualize or using affirmations does not work for most people.)

I wanted to find a picture of the ocean and rock cliffs, a place with no beaches, so I entered the key words: "no beaches" into the google search engine.

What I got was of course many pictures of beaches.

That is because google, like the subconscious implicate order, did not understand the "no" part of the request. It only read the "beaches" part.

That is how the law of attraction, affirmations and visualization works.

If you are praying to stop smoking, and your affirmation is written with the negative like this: "I no longer smoke." The picture created in your mind and seen by the implicate order subconscious universal mind is a picture of you smoking or trying to quit smoking. (Trying to quit implies failure.)

So, what you must do is to put the idea of smoking completely out of the picture. Visualize you breathing pure air and being completely healthy and living healthy. Keep the picture of smoking or cigarettes completely out of the affirmation and out of the picture.

Try this: enter these key words into google:

No smoking, quit smoking, smoke free, etc and you will get a page full of pictures of cigarettes and of people smoking.

Even the key words "healthy lungs" will have a few pictures of a cigarette come up.

But the key words "good health" will not. Those key words will produce pictures of vegatables, fruits, pictures of people outside, doing yoga etc.

So before you practice you affirmation or visualization, do a google search and it will show you what you are asking the universe for.

Boolean logic uses the word NOT to exclude search engine words, not the word "no". Some engines use the minus sign (-).

Yup,
nice story but slightly twisted logic.

If you want pictures of Clifs in Google (Images), type "Cliffs", or pictures of Oceans, type "Oceans".

Why would you search on a negative that has nothing to do with what you actually want to see?

Best Of Luck with Your Google Searching!!

DUH

It is not about how to search or how not to search for something on google.

It is about why certain visualizations, certain affirmations that people will use in practicing the law of attraction don't work or does attract the exact opposite of what they want.

I thought Totallycheated missed the boat on that one too Jeanie. You are so right-on with our thought processes imo. In my experiences to date with how my life has progressed, I have 'seen' myself in that position. It's all about seeing yourself in whatever you want and 'believing' it.

Thoughts are things. Be careful what you think about repeatedly.

Exactly. The hard part is getting your emotions to line up with what you want. If you are very depressed about something and you are thinking about what you want, you are confusing the process. You have to feel the happiness attached to getting what you want.

What if you don't want what you have, or if you want what you don't have?

If you don't want something, lose it. Imagine yourself with the thing you want...feel having it and soon it will materialize.

The most interesting part of this process is finding out what you really want.

Hi JB.

If you don't want what you have, take your attention off of it and put your attention on what you do want.

For example if you have a bad habit of smoking and you don't want it. Put your attention on deep breathing and over all good health.

Or if it is a material object, just put it in the dumpster.

**

If you want what you don't have intend to get it. Put your attention on it. Take steps to acquire it.

Yes. Decide what you want. Be honest about it. Intend to get it. Put your attention on it.

If you don't do that, you are going no where. If you keep your attention on what you don't want, you perpetuate it.

I'm puzzled...

You said this...

1.Think about what you want, not what you don't want.

2.Think about what you have, not what you don't have.

And this...

3.If you don't want what you have, take your attention off of it and put your attention on what you do want.

4.If you want what you don't have intend to get it. Put your attention on it. Take steps to acquire it.

So, if you don't want what you have, then nevermind 2. and follow 1. If you don't have what you want, then nevermind 2. and follow 1.

--

Seems like 2. is kinda useless, unless one is content with what they have.

# 2 refers to not putting your attention on the lack of something.

IE: (I don't have enough money or enough food, or enough time, etc.)

Instead, put your attention on what you do have.

(I have $5.00 and a can of soup and all the time in the world.)

Gratitude helps.
