I was told that it needs sandy dirt soil. I know it needs transplanted. It is a Indian Medicine plant.

I am having trouble finding good soil for it. I can get other pots with no problem. It is actually six plants in the same pot.

My aloe vera is just getting too big for its pot. ![]() ![]() Don't water it too much. Neglect the heck out of it first of all. It's a succulent. Same family as cacti. Secondly, break of pieces and stick them on other pots and they will root themselves and make new plants. Don't bother with fancy soil. Buy something crappy like Black Magic. Make sure it has proper drainage holes. I have kept succulents including Aloe my whole life. They are from the Agave family I believe it is spelled. |

I took my plant to my meeting after I bought the blue sand made by Crayola. The lady at Walmart asked me if the blue dye in the sand would hurt the aloe. I found out at the meeting that the blue dye would have no effect on the aloe. I bought some potting soil at Fred's; A blue kitty litter box at Walmart and the blue sand. I did find some cactus potting soil at Walmart.

Oh okay the kitty litter box has no drainage holes. Not a problem.

Except that it might confuse the cat. I didn't factor that in. I might use coffee containers.

I found a big pot for the pups and took the mother plant and put her in her own pot where the pups can have pups and the mother plant can grow new pups.

JUst to let you know if your weather isn't to terribly cold you can plant it outside too. Lived in North FLA. for a while planted one outside grew like crazy. You can break off the biggest outer leaves an put in a baggie keep in freezer for burns an rashes it southes the skin. Just when you want to use it squeeze out the juice onto whatever your putting it on. Can't really kill them. Good luck
