The discussed situation would not occur in Texas. Police commonly tell women here to carry a handgun with or without a license. Using a gun to make a citizen's arrest is expected ... as making a citizen's arrest in the same situation without a gun is stupid and can get you killed.

I remember climbing through our window many times when I was locked out and Id hate to think some loony would have gone out their way to approach me with a gun because they thought I was a burlgar..let alone that the gun may go off and kill me because of their misunderstanding,,,, |
