They said that you were dead
yet this I did not believe. Your youthful face gazing back from my vivid dreams. They pointed out your tomb made from marble. Yet this I did not believe. Even as I gazed upon it myself. I stood in silent awe, as birds twittered nearby. My eyes scanning the reflective stone. Listening for your silenced voice. Yet I still did not believe. The sun had set, plunging the world into silent night. Bats swooped around my bowed head. Yet I still did not believe. The lid grated softly and I stared. A whitish mist rising and flowing toward me. This I did not believe. I stood watching as the column Formed and moulded into human features. Now I believed. I smiled as you smiled. I laughed as you laughed. I panged as you drank. Yes now I believe. Now we are together my love. Together for all eternity. Together as the un-dead. Oh yes, now I believe. |
