Some jokes are not meant to be taken seriously. Without personal knowledge of the individual I wouldn't jump to a conclusion one way or the other. Clearly it was in poor taste, that is about as far as I would take it.
In my opinion most judges are d-bags who have little life experience to pull from other than law school and legal circles which insulates them from real life and the people they tend to judge. Maybe my own bias is showing, I grew up in a poor area and every interaction with a judge was one of extreme prejudice being laid down on the peasants from up on high. MY brother has severe learning disabilities which include dyslexia, he has a hard time reading and gets tons of parking tickets, he also tends to not pay them, gets thrown in jail, and then has trouble relating to those judging him. All told he has spent more time in jail than out the last two years, and the cycle of spending money vs working vs not being able to get to work has pretty much made him 100% dependent on me and my mother. Every time we see a judge its always us trying to help the judge understand my brother disabilities and then the judge not giving 2 *****. My brother is a safe driver, he just gets picked on by normal people. One time he was thrown in jail becuase a cop didn't like the way he stuttered at a stop and thought he was on drugs. Long story short 5K in legal fees we never got back to prove he wasn't. Then the next time he was in court the judge remembered him only as that guy who couldn't communicate during a traffic stop and everyone thought he was on drugs. I am not a proponent of the legal system, and that might just be the understatement of the year. |

I Agree it was in poor taste
and more of a personal insult than a joke,, in my opinion jokes are usually general or about a specific person BASED upon something they did or said themself,,, |

Here in Nevada not all judges here in Nevada have to have Law Degrees, College Degrees or even High School Diplomas. Two of the Justices of the Peace here in Carson City ar enot lawyers, never went to law school, never went to college and one didn't graduate High School. Also in various parts of the state here there are quite a few more of them. |
