Well, it's not exactly a new thing. . . .
I know a fair bit about Eastern philosophies but can't think of anything offhand that's special about their view of the future. Are you maybe talking about the Buddhist idea of mindfulness? Living one day at a time? |

I view the future as a mystery and enigma. What happens, happens.
Some is foreseeable (price of oil going up, etc), some is not. My view of the future is unchanged. |

Well, it's not exactly a new thing. . . . It, TOO is a new thing. It has entered the West less than half a dozen decades ago, in the Beatles era, in any serious way. This, compared to four billion years of life present in the West, of which the latter 100,000 in the West was preoccupied by sentient, thinking, reasoning yet unreasonable humans. Sixty (60) years to one-hundred thousand years (100,000,000) is, I daresay at the risk of contradicting you, a safely determined "new" thing. It's actually better than new, because the analytical processes of the western minds have made drastic and very useful improvements on the eastern thoughts. |
