A lion catches their prey 7 out of 10 times. I think it's interesting that an animal with a 70% success rate is considered king of the jungle, rather than say the hyena, whose success rate is about 80%. Also, the Habari is one of the most awesome of domesticated cats, they're worth around $20K.

Ocelot have been known to take down full grown male deer single handedly. They grow to be around 40lbs or so.

Good point, I should have used the cheetah for the second example instead of the hyena.

well if you think about it cheetah vs hyena. the cheetah has more agility than the hyena so the cheetah will more than likely win due to the fact that they afre a bit faster as well and a bit stronger also.

Good point, I should have used the cheetah for the second example instead of the hyena.

that doesn't really explain why why the lion is king
but he is big and more intimidating than a cheetah or a hyena lol

i think thats it because i mean if you take a big bald buff guy and a tiny skater kid who do you think people would more than likely not want to mess with even though the skater kid may be faster and stronger lol sterotypes go to the animal kingdom too lol

You didn't get it. The name 'Lion' is royal. Thats why the animal named Lion is king. I hope this is the lamest explanation

Sat 03/10/12 09:33 PM
I didn't know that. Suppose the royal Lion was named after the animal?
