I'm pretty open to all types, i really dig fleetwood mac, red hot chili peppers, the xx. Alot of indie. But, i also dig hip hop(not that **** on the radio) . i have an intense biological response to music, i could never find enough.

Hmm, indie? Maybe check out:
-Arctic Monkeys ("When The Sun Goes Down")
-Death Cab For Cutie ("We Looked Like Giants" and "Crooked Teeth"... "Someday You Will Be Loved" is beautiful but I don't know about it)
-The Weakerthans ("Civil Twilight" I like in particular)
-Modest Mouse maybe (probably "Float On" or "Black Cadillacs" for any newcomer)

For less mainstream or radio hip-hop, maybe Deltron 2020 ("Positive Contact", "Madness"), Mos Def in general, or the hip-hop portions of Gorillaz. That's still a pretty broad area, so I could be very far off here.

Maybe I can tempt you... to some good old "Housewife's Metal"? Might listen into some Nightwish

Or even some MiddleAgesPunkMetal - Subway to Sally sounds kind of okay to me, a little on the depressive/emo side for me

Somewhat softer and more melodic? Schandmaul

If you're into indie, check out The Shin's new album Port of Morrow. It comes out next Tuesday but they just made it available today to stream the whole album free over iTunes. I'm listening to it a second time through right now and I likey! You may or may not be into it but give it a spin and see what you think

I'm flattered.
I wish I could say I knew most of those, but my familiarity is just Radiohead, Muse (kick ***), The White Stripes, and a bit of Beck. I can vouch for those ones though.

I think so, too... Even with the new singer. Annette Olzon is different to Tarja Turunen, but great in her own right... Apart from being sexy in a more down-to-earth way than Tarja was...

I admit I was initially put off by that change. Loved Tarja's voice and most of what I'd enjoyed was with her. Still, I'll definitely give Olzon a chance...
Wow... Just realized how behind I am that I haven't added more Nightwish to my library since that change (5 years back I think). laugh
I was going to argue in favor of Tarja, then did a quick google search and yeah... You're right, Olzon is sexier.

I feel like this thread needs Iced Earth now for some reason, preferably with Matt Barlow:

Still, Tim Owens kicks ***, especially in Ten Thousand Strong:

Tarja is sexy too, in her way... a kind of cold, untouchable, yet adorable way... but Annette... have you seen the official video for "Storytime"? She's dressed like the bad step mother of Cinderella, kind of... I might just eat her raw when she looks and acts like that, lol.

Definitely not bad (going back to the music aspect now) and maybe I need to hear more, but I definitely preferred Tarja's operatic sound. I miss the opera and am more reminded of other symphonic metal bands or even power metal (the slower ones).
Not a bad thing at all though, considering symphonic metal and power metal can be great subgenres.
