Thanks friends for all the prayers, well wishes and support. Two weeks to go, I admit I'm feeling nervous. I know the cataract surgery will go fine and my vision in my right eye will be restored.

Heck, I was scared to death prior to my vitrectomy last July, even though I knew everything would be fine. And the vitrectomy was a much more intensive surgery than the cataract surgery will be. Heck, the nurses even remarked on my calmness prior to the operation. My blood pressure never got above 110 that day. |

Still in my prayers brother Hope you are having some improvement in your vision now ? Cateract surgery is nothing compared to what you have already endured And i bet it will improve your sight by a tremendous amount ! Hang in there my friend ! Be Blessed  KiK |

I don't know how you stay calm, I'm already dreading it! Through prayer, doing some research on the surgeries and learning as much as I can about them and what I can expect, telling myself it will be okay and believing it will be. And being open about it when I'm feeling nervous about them. I hear you. Like I said, prior to my first vitrectomy I was scared to death. That's what helped me through, so when the day came, my attitude was, "let's do this". |

All the people I spoke to who have undergone cataract surgery say they noticed improved vision within a day and resumed normal activities within a 24 to 36 hours. Then again, they're also not type I diabetics with retinopathy like me, so it will take me a little longer to recover. According to the doctor doing the surgery, it can take three weeks to a month. This is due to the underlying conditions. I should notice improved vision within a day to a week. And be able to resume normal activities within a week or less. |

I could get really depressed about the soon coming eye surgeries, but, what good will that do? Sides, I know they're both going to go okay. I can envision the day when once again I have clear vision in both of my eyes.   |
