Even if he did know directly of the harm caused, he's forbidden by federal law from divulging what exactly was the harm or the specific information that caused the harm. There's the same problem with the PFC Bradley Manning case. The enemy may have the information but not know the meaning of it, yet. Also, merely knowing the information will allow the enemy to change their tactics in order to defeat further collecting of future information. There's no way to know how many could've been protected by the information collection that will now be closed. I have no problem believing that lives have or will be lost because of the information Snowden gave to China and Russia. |
