In a nutshell, a US Gov appointed official is on tape saying “The first time I was faced with having to help a white farmer save his farm, he took a long time talking but he was trying to show me he was superior to me. I know what he was doing, but he had come to me for help. What he didn't know while he was taking all that time trying to show me he was superior to me was, I was trying to decide just how much help I was going to give him."
"I was struggling with the fact that so many black people had lost their farmland, and here I was faced with having to help a white person save their land. So I didn't give him the full force of what I could do. I did enough," Sherrod said. "So that when he, I assumed the Department of Agriculture had sent him to me, either that or the Georgia Department of Agriculture, and he needed to go back and report that I did try to help him." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_xCeItxbQY As you will see in the video Shirley Sherrod also spoke of referring the white farmer to a white lawyer, thinking the latter would be more sympathetic because of race. On the video you will hear her say "So I took him to a white lawyer that had attended some of training that we had provided because Chapter 12 bankruptcy had just been enacted for the family farm. So I figured if I take him to one of them, that his own kind would take care of him." Not to beat a dead horse but not to forget . |

So, why did you mention the NAACP in the title of this thread? |

The name is a racial innuendo.
They will only promote the advancement of colored people. Not all people. That's bigoted. I would wager she is a member. She/her kind hates whites. |

OOOPS!!!
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() BTW! Why, when she openly admitted to discrimination, is she still a gov employee? Too bad the farmer doesn't know this. He could be a proud owner of her life and most of what she owns. Oh! But my bad. It's accepted that colored folk can be bigots and haters without suffering consequences. |

If you will follow the link provided and watch the video, you will see that Ms. Sherrod is speaking to the 20th Annual Freedom Fund Banquet of the NAACP in Washinghton DC. not to draw attention to CONTEXT Again,,,,,but In her speech, Sherrod, who grew up on a farm in Georgia, said she desperately wanted to move to the North after high school, but that her father’s murder spurred her to stay and commit herself to helping black people. (He was killed in 1965.) Sherrod said over time – in part because of her experience with the white farmer she talked about in the edited Breitbart clip – she realized her goal was to help poor people, not black people. Read more: http://swampland.time.com/2010/07/20/the-full-shirley-sherrod-speech/#ixzz2cEU9mbXW yeah, in a racially charged time, Sherrod was a human being affected by personal human experience(having her father murdered by white men and burn a cross on her yard)l,,,,YET,, even with the inner struggle, she did the right thing,,,helped someone,,,,, wish more people were so 'racist',,,,, |

He could be a proud owner of her life and most of what she owns. Oh! But my bad. It's accepted that colored folk can be bigots and haters without suffering consequences. actually, she didn't discriminate because she HELPED the farmer the farmer already spoke up giving her accolades for her help in their keeping their farm no one owns her, and the farmers are actually still friends with her 'Roger Spooner, the farmer, said on CNN that Sherrod is not a racist, that she did everything she could for his family; more than 20 years later, he and Sherrod remain friends.[31] The Spooners credit Sherrod with helping them save their farm: "If it hadn't been for her, we would've never known who to see or what to do", Roger Spooner said. "She led us right to our success." His wife, Eloise Spooner, said that "after things kind of settled down, she brought Sherrod some tomatoes out of her garden, and they had a good visit."[30] Eloise Spooner recalled Sherrod as "nice-mannered, thoughtful, friendly; a good person."[30] The couple were surprised by the controversy. "I don't know what brought up the racist mess", Roger Spooner said. "They just want to stir up some trouble, it sounds to me in my opinion." Eloise Spooner said that on seeing the story of Sherrod's resignation, "I said, 'That ain't right. They have not treated her right.' |
