I'm addressing this to both sexes but since it's been happening to me I'm assuming it's happening to more women then men. Over 85% of the men I've met through this site have come up with some fantastic story as to why I need to give them money. All of the profiles are men born and raised in Germany. But ask to chat on phone they all have african accents. They all start out with over wheming compliments about you. Usually within a day or say they are professing their undying love for you. Then bam.... They have to leave the USA for one reason or another. The stories range from I lost my wallet to I was robbed. But ultimately it's you they call to send them
Money to get BACK Home TO YOU!!! I've been doing a lot of research and I'm trying to set up a site on you tube. This will include the photos they put on dating sites and profiles. The info in Africa where you are to wire them money and the sorry stories that they tell to dupe the women. There's much more info to give do if you want more just message me here on this site. Please be careful, be safe and give no one your hard earned cash!!!!!

For me I am not one of those 83% if a man has to ask for money he has no business even being on here if you don't know how to say no then just block them. Problem solved do fall for that.

No matter where you go or what you do there will always be scammers looking for a quick buck. I have pity on them because how bad their life must be to use up all the time the good lord has given them to cheat others. I just delete and move on.

Scamming is not gender specific (or color or age or location).

Anyone who sends "money for love" should regard it as a donation to the scammer.

I announce, sometimes in profile, that "funds are dispersed on the second Tuesday of each week after receipt of 501(c) certification."

I don't understand why anyone would give money to someone they don't even know, I don't care what kind of sob story they're feeding you. Simply put, you don't know this person. Why the hell would you trust them? Do you go around handing out money to every person on the street that claims they're in need? I seriously doubt it, if that was true, we'd have no more poverty and homelessness.

If they're in "trouble" why don't you direct them to the nearest church or Salvation Army or whatever charity they might have in their area? I get priding yourself on being a "good, honest, caring person, who loves mankind" but you have to use common sense, and if you're stupid enough to send money or give access to your bank account to some idiot you just met online, I really don't feel sorry for you.

Hello pastoralstudent.
Thank you so much for warning us all about scammers.
I know we've heard this information before but if it saves one person from being scammed then it was worth it!

Scammers have been around forever. It's their media that has increased significantly.
Years ago, in a more trusting world, it was done door to door.
Then telephone scams began and grew. You have won (a new car) just send us $450 to cover shipping & handling and appropriate taxes.
Then came the internet which basically opened up the world to these dishonest people.

Yes, remember the basics - if it's too good to be true, listens to your instincts.
Thanks and be well. flowerforyou

I know, right? And especially on the internet, like I said, if they were handing out money left and right to people on the street (who might actually need something) we wouldn't have the poverty we have now.....

LOL a few yrs back I was engaged several times to Multi-millionaire super models that had stores in Africa only after a few sentences on chat. I enjoyed it. They would ask me to mail them merchandise to avoid taxes. I'd tell them ok and they'd send me stuff to forward to them. of course it was bought on stolen card #s I reported to the stores they said keep it, insurance covered it. I'd send them one or two little things keep the good stuff. It's fun scamming a scammer

I think it's a really crappy thing to do on a dating site but then you can't put anything past people when $$$ is involved. The lengths that heartless scammers will go to separate you from you cash is amazing.

I don't see how people can be this dumb but evidently they are or the scammers would go away.

Guess people are tired of feeling powerless so they want to be powerful to someone so they give up what they got. Only difference they make is enrich the criminals of the world.

One of my favorite scammer stories was one I had that said her and her brother made it out of an area that was under attack or something and they were now living in a camp. They had a bunch of stuff in boxes they wanted to send me so I could keep it safe. I think there was supposed to be a preacher who she trusted for the time being. I don't think I ever gave this person any info as to where I lived and certainly not a street address. But eventually she started saying she was worried for their safety. After letting the story progress a bit I eventually asked this idiot how the rest of the story was going to go. I asked if I waited long enough were they going to send me pictures of this person beaten? Maybe they would eventually start sending me pictures of the girl with her fingers cut off and then her hands, feet and so on until she was just a torso with a head and then finally send me a picture of just her head.

The last email I got from them was them saying I was a very sick person. All I can say I was just guessing at how they were going to have the story progress based on what they had said so far. hahaha

My suggestion to you is to have fun with them. I saw a video about a group that got video of scammers doing really stupid things to get money.

Here's another story of one I had fun with.

I had one who said they wanted to send me a check, I would cash it and then send them a wire transfer. I'm familiar enough with this scam to know the check is going to be fake and so I'm not going for it. So then they ask for my credit card number like I'm that stupid. I tell them no because I'm not an idiot and they keep persisting. Finally I said why don't you just send me some fake money? They ask why? I said well you can send me fake money just as easy as you can send me a fake check. So just send me fake money. I think it was after that they stopped talking to me. I don't know why. I thought it was pretty damn funny. lol

I had a scammer that after I told the person I knew he/she was a scammer. I talked to that person for two years and then got them to send me 4 money orders for the amount of $4000 each. I've never seen a place that would make one of those out for that amount. But out of the off chance that by some unforeseeable act of god they could have been real. I took them to the bank and if I hadn't asked the teller to confirm them. She probably would have cashed them. But they took they to who ever was in charge and confirmed they were fake. Now the funniest thing was this scammer tried two times before to send me money orders and they were probably getting confiscated. So I told them to wrap the money orders in paper this time to hide them. Which they did. When I confronted them with everything. They accused me of stealing the money and what ever that way. I asked them why I would cash something I was sure was fake. Never got an answer to that question as I recall. That was the most rewarding scammer experience I have ever had. lol
