At what point does "Hope" be realized for what it is? "Hoax"? When will the defelecting statements about "not being aware of" "not informed about" etc. going to wake the country up? Does anybody have eyes and a mind anymore? Black people ( and white people) will follow Obama to hell if he announces that is where he is going. So sad.

Very simply this: Black people who have completely different ideas than he does, hear him say something contrary to their beliefs and they say" well, he's smarter than me, so I will go along with him" and white people are tole they are racist if they say anything contrary to his agenda, so they keep quiet. Not to mention many white people want to distance themselves from the negative past toward black people, so they remain silent. That's whats happening.

I for one am not following Obama anywhere. While I think Obama has completed some tasks that former Presidents could not. The bigger picture is that ge has proven himself to be just like every other politician that we have been faced with. They are all to concernef with protecting themselves and people oversees. When we have people in our own backyard needing help. While Obama care may have helped some it penalyzed any hardworking American that is too young for retirement with any pre-existing conditions. Placing limits on things like Chiropractic care and other forms of medical care that kept us healthy and returning to work each day. And allowing drug addicts and anyone claiming they suffer from depression to be lazy and draw a disability check meanwhile people with tru disabilities are turned away becauses there is not enough money to fund the growing populations of disabled people. These are things that have been swept under the rug while we storm into a country and take control of it on a suspicion they were making weapons of mass destruction. Meanwhile we sit on a billion dollar budget funneled into making weapons of mass destruction of our own. We tell these people how they should live and govern. And we sit and wonder why things like 9/11 occur. Our President and government need to wake up and realize just because our way of life work for us doesn't make it right for everyone. Let's take care of our own people first and resolve our own problems before we go taking on someone elses!

Furthermore, this is not a matter of racism it is not a matter of the color of the skin at all its about taking a stand and doing whats right even if you must stand alone. When the government shut down they should have docked all of their pay down to minimum wage for at least six months so they could get a good feel for how true Americans live. I am sure then there would have been no debate about raising minimum wage to $15 an hour.

I think that every politician, celebrity and athlete would have their own entourage if they marched to hell, jumped off a cliff, ran into traffic etc...

People of status or position lead the way, those basking in that status or position follow.

Then there are those who make their own way irrelevant of what anyone else does or says.

Well, whatever anyone says about Obama, a black man being elected president of the USA was a major historic event and every time there's an election over there you lot go on about how it's time for a change and you got it.

People whined that Bush rigged the election and now people whine about people voting for Obama because he's black but the truth is that your white Anglo Saxon protestant no longer represents the majority and you had better just deal with it.

Politics (and especially American party politics) is all about it being a personality contest. In every political debate everyone likes to go on about economics but nobody has enough honesty to just admit that they don't even understand economics and they are just parroting opinions that they got from the media. That's why people voted for him. They were just fed up with having a Forrest Gump president that was the laughing stock of the civilised world.

Folks, this website has a forum specifically for political discussions, which this thread has turned into.

At least the USA's head of state gets his job by being elected to it, as opposed to someone getting the job simply by being born into a specific family.

There is a term limit for the former. The latter gets the job for life.

Now which system is more messed up?
